I WILL LOVE YOU BUNGIE.

I want to see Dr Halsey, I bet she looks like Cortana, because it's basically her.

I think yes.

Maybe Dr. Hasley will be in there, but potentially just as a cutscene NPC. Along the lines of Admiral Whitcomb in Halo 2. He was there, but only briefly, and only in cutscenes.

  • 09.03.2009 8:27 AM PDT

I think its going to be based more on the setting of the book than the actual book itself.

Exactly, there is no reason for bungie to just make a video game recount of the book.

Plus, just transferring a book to a gamescript would change some things. Also, Joe Staten is the writer for this game, I don't think he would simply copy paste the story.

Especially since the book has exactly two engagements against the covenant.

Where did you heard that Joe Staten is writing the Campaign for Halo: Reach?

Oh really? I seem to remember engagements at Sigma Octas IV (Spelling), Jericho VII, Reach, Above Reach, On the the covenant Cruiser Highjacked in First Strike, and many more battles.

At Reach, there is only one (from the book) one.

But actually, -blam!-. It's been a WHILE since I read that fricking book, I completely forgot about Sigma Octanus and Jericho.

We are talking about The Fall of Reach only, which ends before the battle of reach is over.

Actually, books 7/8/9 are part of a new trilogy of books, that describe the Forruner war. Confirmed at Comicon.

Does the Forerunner trilogy counts? Oh wait! It's not because it's just trilogy of three novels about the Forerunners.

Oh you
Haha. But really. I don't see how the game would be based on The Fall of Reach since TFoR only includes a single battle at Reach, and it is all covered from the 3-man Spartan Blue Team in space. Not even on the surface. If we are going to be going into rebel asteroid fields, sigma octanus, covenant ships in deep space, and an array of distant human worlds, and end up in outer space over Reach for a 15 minute zero gee mission... I don't see why that game would be called Halo REACH.

We know Reach is a prequel. But depending on Bungies definition of "Prequel" will decide on where the game takes place.

If they want a "True" prequel, then all the events would occur before the beginning of Halo CE. If that's the case we would only get to play an extremely small portion on Reach. Meaning it would have to go farther back in the timeline.

However, if Bungie doesn't go by a "True" prequel, it could follow the events in First Strike.

That's not true... Halo 1 begins September 19, whereas Reach falls August 30. Lots of time in between for an untold story.

The initial invasion started August 30th, and the PoA was in slipspace for what seemed like weeks. But didn't the forerunner crystal dilate the time on Reach? Or was that only Castle Base?

Just call me Triller.

http://couganwaddell3d.yolasite.com/

I am thinking that it will be the story of the Spartans that are left on Reach. Their battles and struggles, and perhaps some........survivors? I think if MC is in it he will make a short cameo near the beggining of the game and that may be it. With the amount of Spartans on Reach at this time you could almost have an ODST esque style of gameplay. Playing through different stories of different Spartans. Either way, I can't wait for Reach and I am glad Bungie is giving us ODST to chew while we wait. Firefight with SGT Johnson! BAM!
