Anyone who's read the Halo novels know that Humans aren't afraid to use Nukes in battle...either in space or in ground combat.

I, for one, definitely think that Nukes should be included in Halo 2. Just imagine a huge battle...tens of thousands of Covenant storming your position extremely rapidly and you know theres no way in hell you can hold them off w/ normal weapons. So, you wait for the right moment, and give those Covie bastards a 30 megaton surprise.

The graphics look amazing for Halo 2...nearly leaves me speechless. I'd love to see a few Nukes go off in that engine!

A More Complete Compendium of a Bungie History

If Bungie had this I would be the happiest person in the world:

In Bungie's profile on Halo 2 they said "Players: to be annouced". If they had a large scale battle on Xbox Live where you face a team of a lot (I mean a lot) of people and you got your 5 guy team. It would be sweet if you had to get to a certain point in the map and plant a nuke and evac. I think it's safe to say that would be kinda fun. I don't know...

I think the use of nukes in multiplayer could possibly be real cheap...i don't care how strong his armor is...NOONE can survive a Nuke...not Chief, gold elites, hunters, brutes...nothing.

There definately shouldn't be HAVOKS included in MP. I agree, this would be extremely cheap and easy to kill alot of people, very quickly. Which means any old noob could jump on Halo 2, ask for cover from teammates as he plants a HAVOK, and come off with up to 8 kills right off the bat. Sorry, but I would be extremely pissed. I would love to see a mission in the campaign mode that incorperates Master Chief planting a HAVOK in a tactical position to destroy either a crucial covenant target, or damage it severely. And as someone said above, in Fall of Reach, numerous times, the UNSC has no problem with sending the Covenant an explosive message with a HAVOK. I wouldn't mind seeing a Lotus mine in MP, that would be kind of cool.

Cockroaches aren't Covenant, which are the only creatures besides Flood that I am concerned about killing.

If a 30 megaton nuke went off at the reb base in blood gulch, and you were standing on the blue base, you'd be vaporized in 3/100th of a second.

Too unrealistic to be included in Halo 2.

Either way, I agree with what your saying, but HAVOKS are not 30 megatons of nuclear power. They are hand held nuclear weapons that are planted and detonated on command.

I think instead of nukes we should have claymores.
Claymores are direction controlled mines with motion sensors.

I know what Claymores are, but dont you think for 500 years into the future Claymores are outdated? I'd say Lotus mines instead.

Definitely Lotus's in MP...be a very good guard against Warthogs and Tanks, etc...

They also make very good anti-infantry weapons too...

Also don't you think 500 years in the future the Humans would have an aircraft specifically for combat? There is the Longsword, but those are mainly used in space to take on Covenant Seraph fighters. Damn I hope theres a new Human aircraft...

Not like we actually know or anything, but they would work well especially against ground vehicles as well. If you put a strip of mines down and let a warthog roll over that, it would go flying.

Nukes=stupid

Why? Explain...

They would be VERY stupid in Multiplayer, but they'd be awesome to use once or twice in the Single Player.

How do lotus mines work?
I've only read the 1st 2 books.
They don't talk about lotus mines in detail.

They are just simple land mines. I really dont know much about them except that I am sure because of technology in the year 2552 they wouold be a much more compact mine. They detonate under pressure.

Lotus's are anti-vehicle/anti-personnel mines. They are planted into the ground, and can be detonated either by proximity or by remote (I think). These things aren't just "normal mines"...they're very powerful and one of them could probably destroy a Wraith tank.

If they detonate under pressure they won't work against the floating covie vehicles...
They should be proximity mines with motion or vibration or magnetic sensors.
Or a combination of all 3.

And you actually think a normal mine couldn't destray a wraith tank? Realistically, the wraiths mechanics are located on the bottem of the tank. A "normal mine" is still a huge explosive device, and I think its likely it could destroy a wraith.

It'll destroy the wraith, but it'll have trouble sensing the wraith because the wraith floats and probably doesn't exert much pressure on the ground.
