Remember all of those semi-bosses in Halo 2 and Spark in Halo 3? I was thinking that a boss battle mode would be a great addition to Reach. Think about it this way. They would be nice classic replays and add a time trial like mode to Reach.
Tartarus
Single Player
As the Arbiter, you must take out the Chieftain. Don't worry, you have Jonson providing sniper fire and fellow Elite warriors. But Tartarus has Brutes to aid him.
OnlineOne player would play as Tartarus from Halo 2, limited use invincible energy shield and ol' fashioned Fist of Rukt. The other players would either be whatever armor perms they have on or generic Elites. The Tartarus player would also have back up Brutes. This will prevent giant hordes of enemies from swarming the boss. The BTB of Boss Battle.
Heretic Leader
Single Player
Take control of the Arbiter as you slay this vile Heretic!
Online
Sort of a 1v1 type Boos Battle, one player has either their armor perm or is the Arbiter, while the other is the Heretic Leader.
343 Guilty Spark
Single Player
Take control of the Chief as you end 343 Guilty Spark operational life. Tag team with the Arbiter
Online
A Team Doubles version of Boss Battle where you have your armor of take control of the Chief and Arby. The Spark player will have the aid of an occasional Sentinel.
Sentinel Major
Single Player
Remember that giant Sentinel you fight as the Arbiter? Take it out. But this time....your an Elite Flood combat form.
Online
One player plays as the Major while the other players are Flood combat forms. Can you fend for yourself?
Prophet of Regret
Single Player
Chief is back and he is ready to kill Regret....again. Board that alien scum while fighting off his forces. Marines are your allies.
Online
Same standards as the past Boss Battles, but you are fighting the Prophet. One player is Regret and his allies are Honor Guards. Another player can be Chief or their armor while others are Marines.
Would this be an interesting mode? Classic duels with Reach graphical sheen. I think it could work.
