Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

And you needed someone to tell you that?

Yeah, thank god. Maybe people will understand that all the people in the banner are Spartans now and that this won't be a rainbow six style squad base game.

Hint: Go to the news submission page and look at the symbol for Halo Reach. Its a dragon. A red dragon. Probably the symbol for the red spartan team. The one that fought on the ground at reach. The one that the book barely mentioned much. The one where they could create a bunch of senarios for a videogame's campaign without screwing over the canon.

Hint: That red dragon was used for Halo 3 news submissions before much information was released about it.

He did not say that. He said (in reference to squad based gameplay), "I think it is a safe assumption." Far from confirmation.

Dude, its obviously set off the events of the book. Book's called Fall of Reach. The game is about the Fall of Reach. The event, not the book itself.

And it'll probably be a brand new cast of Spartans, including S-259 and S-320.

To be honest, I feel that its giving off a Team Fortress vibe, Heavy, Scout, Soldier, Spy, Sniper from Left to Right if you look at it, but thats just me. xP

It's pretty close to confirmation, actually. In fact, the only way it could be any closer is if he said - "I can 100% guarantee that there will be more than one Spartan in Reach". And it wasn't in reference to "squad-based gameplay". He said that there would be squads WITHOUT the idea of "squad-based gameplay".

I was unaware that Sierra 259. and Sierra 320 were spartans.

supossibly they are, but we have no idea if they really are, they could be Spartan's, Orbital Drop Shock Troopers or even Marine's. We will just have to wait and see how it turns out.

And im pretty sure Bungie is not gona tell us anything untill the game is near release like what they did with Halo 2 and 3. The fact that they are reviling so much on ODST is wierd but i guess since its a new Halo experience people wont be sure about it, so thats all the marketing.

While its unconfirmed, it's pretty much a given. I mean we've been told repeatedly that Sierra 117 means Spartan 117.

Also notice Sierra 259's dialogue.

"This is Sierra 259. We've got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere."

Sounds like their Spartans.

  • 09.04.2009 6:01 AM PDT

So, in reference to Reach MM, do you think we will be able to pick from various spartans with different load-outs. i know that sounds like a class-based game, and i don't want that to be the case. However, i don't see what the point would be of picking different people to be unless there were differences between them.

(on second thought, you can pick different ODSTs in Halo 3: ODST for firefight and i'm pretty sure they all have the same starting weapons. Just forget everything i posted)

Terrorism is a disease. Rangers are the cure.

Anyone else notice the part at 17:23 that said Sgt. Beta Keyes?
Screen grab here.

I did a search and came up empty. What are your thought on this? Just an egg?

  • 09.04.2009 6:44 AM PDT

Did anyone else notice how he took a few seconds to say: "Remember how we did the Covenant view point in Halo 2?"

So is it possible that there will be alternating Spartan/Elite missions similar to Halo 2?

Err, Chief was only referred to as Sierra 117 TWICE, more than 7 months after Reach fell.

Halo is a "continuing canon." Which means that whatever happens in the latest game to be released should be considered canon everywhere else. Such as power armor in Halo 3 vs. Halo 2.
Sierra was used by the UNSC to designate Spartans long before the Battle of Reach.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

No. He clearly is talking about alternating what Spartan you play as.

Elite missions in Reach wouldn't make any sense at all.

"And when we come back, more info on the Halo: Reach beta. "- What Geoff says just as a headline says, "Sgt. Beta Keyes".

Beta keys.

In response to Sierra=Spartan,
Sierra doesn't necessarily mean Spartan. It is phonetical code for S (it could mean spartan, sniper, spec ops, etc). People draw the conclusion that sierra=spartan because the only character you play in the game series is Master Chief, who is a Spartan. So of course you would hear his code name be "Sierra." If you played the halo trilogy as a sniper, your code name could be Sierra too, and you would think from the trailer that Sierra=sniper. You can't be absolutely sure about these things. It can be likely that it is a Spartan (provide some evidence here to prove why), but don't say that it is for sure a Spartan.
