For the 100th time, in this story the code Sierra has only been used to refer to the Master Chief as a SPARTAN, knowing this Bungie wanted people to recognize them as spartans and yes in the real world Sierra code mean whatever but in the Halo cannon it only means Sierra there is no reason for bungie to trick us. I think its really retarded that people can't understand something so f
freaking simple.
Furthermore, "This is Sierra 259. You've got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere."
If he wasn't one of the Spartans, he would have said We've got Spartans on the ground, sir. Their not going anywhere. Its pretty obvious...
If only it were. Imagine this: You are a squad commander, your superior has ordered you to retreat when a group of Spartans touch down by your position. If the Spartans were with you (a group of marines) what would you say? "you've got Spartans on the ground (informing his superior that there are Spartans on the ground), we're not going anywhere (we as in referring to himself, his marine squad, and the Spartans)." This is one likely possibility.
Also Halo canon tries to represent real life as much as possible, so Sierra does have more than one meaning. The new Spike TV Reach talk inferred on squad gameplay, not specifically Spartan squad gameplay (though I am still not convinced that is what Joe meant).
