n00bs...hehe...or angry 12 year olds...I'd also like a better campaign than Halo 3 because to me it seemed a little confusing. Maybe more like missions with time and dates.

The game revolving around the br or some other weapon.
weak AR, PR, ect.
bad and uncommon fuelrod gun (they should be in games more often)
forced night vision/ thermal vision for the snipers (make it optional, but I'm afraid that either one might make it harder to see.)
spartan laser (that thing pretty much ruins vehicle combat. I can't even use the banshee without getting lasered in it 4 seconds later.
weak needlers (I want it to be good, though I can understand why people want to nerf it.)
bad campaign
bad AI.

I don't want tactical squad gameplay -blam!-.
I don't want a 3rd person shoot-em-up (GOW)
I don't want the Halo 3 melee system (Needs a complete redo)
I don't want little kids in Multiplayer (Impossible, I know)
I don't want a linear, short, half-assed campaign.
I don't want an unbalanced, hacker filled multiplayer.
I don't want class based crap.
I don't want the BR to be a power weapon.
I don't want Brutes at all (no multiplayer, singleplayer, anything)

No it's not. Watch videos of it. It takes over an entire clip of this new ODST pistol to take down a brute. It takes 3-7 shots to take down an elite in halo 1 depending on your aim of course, not AN ENTIRE CLIP. Also the ODST pistol is basically the Halo 2 pistol which fired as fast as you could pull the trigger, only with a scope attached to it and a silencer. And the fact that the silencer doesn't affect the gameplay but makes the pistol sound weaker makes it worse if I say so.


You just compared two different aliens. Brute are harder to kill (just plain shooting wise) than elites. Take the assault rifle for example. Stand there headshoting an elite. do the same thing with a Brute (if he lets you). Same distance, same everything, and you'll find it takes longer to gun down a Brute. And don't do it on easy. Easy is........easy. now, if given the chance in Reach, and i hope the have thsame specs, Ill try the pistol on an elite, and see how that goes.

The reason I compare the brutes to elites is because the brutes in Halo 3/ODST compare in difficulty to the elites of Halo 1 and 2. They take pretty much the same amount of damage to kill each one of them. Just BR an Elite in Halo 2 and a brute in Halo 3 on the same difficulty to compare how close in health they are. So to take between 1 and 2 clips of pistol ammo to take down a brute with this new silenced pistol just seems a little ridiculous to me. And it also encourages n00b comboing which is not something I'd like to be encouraged.

Again I just don't see what would be so wrong with a scoped version of the Halo 3 magnum. It's stronger than the ODST pistol, and weaker than the CE one, not to mention still retains the same iconic look and sound of the CE pistol. But that's just me.


Bungie SAID that it as almost identical to the Halo CE pistol, its on just about every review on the game! Take OXM (Official XBox Magazine). I read their review and it said that:
"..we were anxious to try out the Magnum pistol, which Bungie promised to restore to its near-godlike Halo: CE state for ODST."

You must understand why its there. Its there because if that guy HADNT lasered you, you would be been terror in the skies. Unless you rammed the entire time, not much could stop you from getting over 6 kills. But with a laser, then they can stop you from doing so, but they only get ONE kill. I think its more fair for them to be able to stop you from getting over 6 kills, but in return, they only get one. Wouldnt that make long term sense to Bungie?

H3 length campaign


The campaign in H3 was average for an FPS campaign. CoD, Resistance, Killzone... all these games have around the same length as H3. Also, the campaign was pretty good. I certainly didn't expect the Flood to be able to leave Delta Halo. Or the Ark to rebuild Alpha Halo.

While I agree that the PP is a little underpowered without overcharging it, the PR is about right. And the AR is not OP. Move outside of a few meters and it is almost useless. You just need to have some strategy.

OXM is full of inaccuracies. The ODST pistol is exactly the same as the Halo 2 pistol with a scope and silencer. Exact same damage and everything.

It's good though. It isn't as awesome as the CE pistol, but so what? That pistol was ridiculously overpowered for a pistol.

I don't want to see the same graphics engine that they use in Halo 3. The style just looks weird and somewhat silly. Halo 1 and 2 had a sort of stylized realism. Halo 3 has a somewhat cartoon-ish realism. I don't really know how to explain it correctly...

Edit: I hope that Bungie remakes Halo 1 someday =P

Halo CE's campaign WAS awesome, and better than H2's and H3's, but each game had one bit to offer campaign-wise. Halo CE's was a mix of "Here's how the series will start", Major terrain covering combat (ex The Control Room, The Library, Two Betrayals), and Long odds (At the close of the game, there was alot of 3-way combat, and the Chief didnt exactly have numbers on his side). Halo 2 gets into urban combat at first, then it gets into the two-way story (with alot of stealth combat coming into play), and finally ends with the always dreaded but foreseeable cliff-hanger (2's usually do that in a series). And Halo 3 gets into alot of vehicular combat (Tsavo Highway, A little of The Storm, The Ark, The Covenant), it has a sense of Heroism (as Halo CE had survival and Halo 2 had purpose in it), and it had ending (for those who didnt watch the Legendary ending). Halo CE's campaign was so successful because it was new. halo 2 was somewhat new, but Halo 3 was a somewhat of a known fact.

I want to see no Spartans, only marines. None of these made up guns, I want real guns. Some sort of system that increase aiming with all guns. A OHKO knife. Silencer attachement, kills streaks. Oh, and rename it Call of Duty: Halo.


No but really:
New siiiiiick guns
A better melee system than Halo 3 (maybe the halo 2 melee system)
A separate pistol that is the halo 1 pistol (considered a power weapon on the maps)

spartan laser.... i mean its awesome but its got perfect aim and instant kill. it would be great if it had lets say like a reload or less ammo cuz you kinda lose vehicle enjoyment when the kill you from across the map in any vehicle...
(a good alternative was the lock on rocket-launcher: low ammo and medium reload time but it still could kill all vehicles)

no brutes of course

the weakened assult rifle (it should be stronger so it would not be used as the "charge guns blaring and bash first" combo. it would have a little more recoil but still)

and please dont bring back the noob combo (smg and plasma pistol)

flares (they arent effective in campaign and kinda annoying)

before game speaking thru the mics ( i really don't care if you dont like the map or my name or if you just feel like acting weird and screaming threw the mic)

hornets (good idea but the lock on missles are a little to good)

achievements that are only for lone wolves (i just hate playing the same playlist for all the achievements)

unsc vehicles beating their covenant version like scorpian beats wraith, hornet beats banshee ( the books describe the covanant as having better tech so at least make them even)

since it is before halo i think the newer creations should be kinda left out or like almost an objective to find them.

99% of the HALO 2 gaming population doesn't have a hearing problem, if you're part of the 1% who does, post this in your sig.

I could live with out having any deployable equipment in the game!

Shots not registering less and less would be great! I understand it is the internet and it is not perfect but if they could improve it, that would be sweet!

Please do not think I am complaining, I just think that if all of this was adressed/fixed in Halo: Reach, that gameplay could be SO much smoother and enjoyable. Please dont take my list in the wrong way. Bungie should really consider most of these things.

-Bullet spread on the BR (even the AR needs a reduced spread IMO)
-big nooby maps. Nothing wrong with them, but not as many. Jeez just about every map in H3 is ginormous.
-A poor netcode that H3 currently runs on (even bullets on LAN get dropped quite often and its SAD)
-a HUD with no HEALTH bar. Please add it. It would stop the kids complaining about getting 3 shot/beatdown once/sniped once in the body when full shield).
-Poor remakes
-Poor customization in the pregame lobbies of custom games (why should i only be able to increase/decrease player movement by 5-15%? Add a TON of things to customize and by 1% increments. Things to customize can range from Fall damage to the degree of BR spread to Damage).
-Sensitivity increments of only 1, please make a Sens bar or increments of .5 ATLEAST.
-Only being able to choose a certain button layout (please make it so you can customize your controls)
-Maps slaughtered with lifts/mancannons. Its a little ridiculous to see just about EVERY map has one that makes an annoying noise even though its helpful to hear it when playing competitively. Just avoid lifts as much as possible. Top control is way to easy to gain due to lifts being the only way up top. EX: Construct.
-Auto aim on my rockets..? Please remove it.
-Slow reload times/weapon switching (the sword and hammer are so annoying to use because it takes forever to take it out and then use it). A quick YY like in Halo 2 or SOMETHING SIMILAR would be very nice.
-Double reload glitch. Stop blaming it on "the internet" Bungie, it happens on LAN quite OFTEN. Its more than just the internet.
-A melee system that you can lunge with by just having a glimpse of an enemy in the corner of your screen. No skill what so ever and it takes down all your shields?? The distance you lunge should determine how much damage is dealt. It only makes sense IMO.
-Motivation determining how far a grenade goes. Halo 2 and CE they went the same distance no matter what. Thats why grenading in H3 is so easy, people just run forward and aim and push the L button. Theres like no aiming required.
-Nades that seem like I'm throwing firecrackers because the blast radius is so small.
-2 grenades each. 4 please. (if Bungie would make smaller, open, symmetrical maps then nade spamming wouldn't be as much as an issue as it is now because its so easy to throw nades in this game and just about every map is filled with narrow hallways/rooms that are easy to chuck a nade into).
-Small blast radius on rockets...they're rockets for crying outloud. They should do damage when i shoot under somebody's feet! And when somebody shoots me point blank I expect them to die.
-Equipment. Ruins Halo IMO.
Please Bungie consider most of this when making Reach. It would make the gameplay so much more smoother and enojyable for EVERYBODY. Casual players and MLG players (whether we like them or not). Bungie is a sponsor of MLG and their members do attend the MLG events. Its time Bungie made a game that caters to both so they stop crying. Thank You for reading all the way to the end! I hope Reach is amazing.
