Subject: who agrees halo ce maps where the best ones

apart from a few exceptions the halo CE maps where so much bigger and better than a lot of halo 2 and 3 maps, way better for vehicle comabt and we need more maps suitable for 16 players since there is way to many small competitive maps and not enough epic war grounds :P thoughts anyone???

Damnation sucked balls. It did. I find the Halo series has plenty of memorable maps from all three games.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

Uh... only two CE maps had vehicles. Blood gulch and sidewinder. Although big battles are more my style :P

Ah. I only played the xbox version, so most of those maps are probably PC only. I guess the xbox didn't need many big maps, because it was pretty rare to have more than 4 people playing.

I'm sure we won't see those maps because they were made by a different development sect under Gearbox, and were supposed to be exclusive to the PC. They were also way too big. Halo only had two weapons that can breach that gap in range. Halo 3 isn't very fun on big maps because there are only two far range weapons, and two mid range weapons (excluding the overpowered sentinel beam not used anyways) that do not reach as far as the Halo 1 pistol. It just wouldn't work unless they changed up the gameplay, or added more cover, and adding more cover is against the rules of open sight lines.

Let's see. Sniper Rifle, Spartan Laser, BR, Beam Rifle, Carbine. That's five weapons that reach as far as, or farther than the CE Pistol. You are crazy. Gameplay works just fine on large maps. You just have to use vehicles more. Which makes sense. So it is a good change.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

One of the reasons that Halo CE maps worked out as well as they did was because they worked prefectly with the weapons and vehicles of the game. The maps in the latter games were actually rather good, from a design standpoint. But the new weapons, vehicles and later equipment change how people played these maps, and therfore how the maps feel as a finished prduct.

The BR alone changed gameplay so much that I would bet if Bloodgulch was brought back, unchanged, people would absolutely despise it. With the BR it would be nothing more than a large, flat , shooting gallery.

Oh, I forgot the Spartan Laser. My bad. That makes it five. I meant to say the Battle Rifle and Carbine don't work as good as the CE Pistol, and they slow down the gameplay drastically by forcing players to either ping a sniper and run away, or waste an entire clip while predictably rushing towards the sniper into an inevitable and predictable "no scope."

The Spartan Laser is easy to use when killing vehicles. So it's an either/or situation that isn't fun or well balanced in comparison to long range sticking, and pistol sniping of the player out of the vehicle, or rocket leading like in Halo 1. All of which were no where near as underpowered as they currently are in Halo 3, and all of which are no where near as overpowered as the Spartan Laser.

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

Ahh, I do love FFA on Wizard and the like.
A fair amount of those maps should return.

What Bungie needs to make is a Halo 3 custom edition then you could just make massive maps with no item or budget limits.
