Poll: How will the framerate hold up in Halo 2?  [closed]
Same as Halo: CE:  41%
(16 Votes)
Faster than Halo: CE:  51%
(20 Votes)
Slower than Halo: CE:  8%
(3 Votes)
Total Votes: 39

In my opinion, this characteristic will make-or-break the game. And as I'm sure Bungie is trying their best to keep it the same - or better - as Halo: CE, it is yet to be known...

So! What do you guys think?

Frame rate will be 30 fps for sure

And what was the point of telling us the rules we already know?

I think it will be as fast or faster than Halo 1.

Same as the first, drops sometimes but nothing serious.

I think it will the same as Halo. For sure it can't be worse. Bungie is trying to make it better than the original.

Don't post stupid replies; i.e. "your last reply"

I don't understand how you could call Halo: CE a stupid abberviation...

There is no way Bungie would put out the gmae with a slower framerate. 30fps was fine and I would sacrifice frames for better graphics anyday...unless it goes below 30. 30fps looked realistic.

i think that the framerate will be better
in the first halo, if you beat a dead alien for long enough, then the frame rate would drop a lot

That was one thing that bugged the hell out of me when people were trying to argue that Halo was a bad game. They would always mention that it was only 30 fps. So what, it doesn't need to be any higher than that, so why bother making it higher. It wouldn't bother me if Halo ran at 10 fps, so long as it ran properly.

Halo was fine at 30 fps so I suspect that Bungie will be leaving it like that for Halo 2. No point in changing what already works eh.

It's not a matter of them changing the framerate - they wouldn't do that. It's a matter of the framerate changing itself because of all of the new graphical enhancements in the game, naturally

I think the fps will stay around the same area of the first halo. Though there's going to be alot more stuff to generate in this game.

The first time I saw Halo 2 at Gamestop I was like "OMFGWTFBBQ this will never run at 30fps on the XBox!"

Now that I'm seeing the new videos, though, I'm beginning to think that the folks at Bungie will try to make it as much like the first as possible. Some minor framerate drops in heavy shooting (or blood, heh heh) but otherwise fine. 30fps is honestly all you need anyways.

Project Gotham Racing 2 was running at 30fps...Halo 2 should do just fine

Well I doubt it'll be slower than Halo: CE. Bungie has told us many times that they hadn't tapped the power of the Xbox.. not even close.

So, I think the framerate will be more stable than Halo: CE. I also don't like 60 fps too much. It makes things seem a little less dramatic.

generally speaking, i expect the frame rate to be the same as halo, that is, 30 fps, with some dips when the action gets intense. i do think the new engine wont bog down as often however, nor nearly as bad in ackward places (the maw run for one)

Thats just lag, from all the connections trying to sync with each other, or just the slow ones.

I'm sure you will get the odd framerate issues when some big battles take place, and lots of action. But generally I think it will be quite similar to Halo.
