i just bought halo 1 on ebay after not having played it in forever. i got it today and i put it in my xbox and it sais the game could not start. please download the game again

What the? That is very, very odd. Your Xbox for some odd reason is probably attempting to play it from your HDD, did you attempt to install it on your HDD? I'm not sure if Xbox original's work when installed on the HDD with a disc. If you have any form of Halo: CE file on your HDD try deleting it and see if that works, your could also try cleaning the disc. If neither of those work, then I have no idea how to make it work.

I don't think we're even given the option to install original Xbox games to the HDD, but I could be wrong.

My Halo disk works fine on my 360.

Maybe try clearing your cache?

i cleared my cache and all other halo ce files off my harddrive and it still doesnt work, and my disc isnt scratched cause its brand new

If you have a friend with a copy, try that one. I have had a perfect condition disc not work on my PS2 before.

I really have no idea how to fix this other than what I suggested.

I'd suggest you call Microsoft, and check the FAQ on xbox.com. I've never heard of this problem.

Unless the disc is not from your country, then you'd have a problem.
