maybe not full on destruction but maybe some walls collapsing and craters in the floor and trees and things fall apart when shot at, could be done, would make the experience more interesting, especially in campaign if a lot of stuff was destructible

Maybe there could be weak spots on walls that you can destroy which will create a hole, kind of like on RES5 where the executioner breaks down part of a wall.

Im not sure i would want this tbh.
Like in Red Faction, that had large amounts of destruction, but made the buildings seem like they were made from little more than polystyrene. Whereas most of the places you go to in Halo are on extremely tough lanscapes. E.g. Forerunner buildings, concrete buildings, covenant ships. Them places don get destroyed easily, so any damage on them could make the game look a bit tacky.

But maybe on trees and weak structures....

But even then, i dont think Halo needs that sort of stuff. Its done a lot better than any other game with penetratable walls and destructable scenery.
I dunno.

i actually agree completely with that but if you play the first red faction it was way better and thats the kind of destruction i want in this game, and itl only be with big weapons like rockets fuel rods etc.

Not like Red Faction because your right the buildings didn't feel epic.
Forerunner buildings should be indestructable (though there probably wont be forerunner buildings as its reach).

i remember the zanzibar pillars they where awesome, they are kind of starting to there is a firsfight map with destructible walls as cover so it could happen, would be pretty sweet

I don't think we should see the same level of destruction in a Halo game as we would see in Red Faction for example, but I think we should see a greater degree than what's been in the past games. I remember in Halo 3 shooting at certain pieces of glass and other random objects that probably should be destructible, but in the end had no effect on them when shot. I wouldn't mind.

I wouldn't mind seeing damage on par with Half-Life 2, Fear, or other bigger FPSs in the genre.

I'd like destructible terrain. The day bungie implements it though, is the day that it's not done halfway. And I don't count the stuff in Zanzibar as destructible environment in the same sense.

I hope that bullets are able to punch holes in walls. As appropriate. It is canon that forerunner facilities are known to be very near-impenetrable. Took the flood piles of plasma pistols and plasma rifles to nearly melt one grate in the book The Flood.

I like the idea but i think it would have to be slowly decomposed by bullets... no wall shots

Awesome isn’t just a word. Awesome is a way of life. Awesome is a way of war. Teamwork matters the most. Lone Wolves jeopardize the missions. Teamwork is key. Resistance is futile. The covenant fear us, not the other way around. We don’t fight for Earth. We don’t fight for Reach. We fight for the good of mankind because we are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Alpha Wolf Elite Squadron Ordinary Mammals Electrocuted. Click the Homepage.

Good idea.Like if some one blasts a rocket at the wall,it would blow a hole in the wall.

Id like to see destruction of key structures that are needed for easy access to places... take the example of last resort/zanzibar. The structure thats on the front of the main building, which leads to the laser spot, if the pillars have demo charges set and destroyed, the structure collapses and means you can no longer use it. but unlike most games, the destruction is realistic and the blocks and large pieces stay exactly where they land from the explosion.

this would add to environment and scenery and make every game different as cover constantly changes.

This should be set up at various points, but not only this, craters and blocks should "peel" off of segments all over the place, so that its realistic, but surfaces that are impenetrable like forerunner structures or covenant ship structures take a lot more to destroy.

this would make the destruction not a necessary thing, or something thats easy to do, but a commodity for use with teamwork, say putting all four team members charges on one structure and detonating is enough to blow it up.

that would be good.

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

Forerunner ruins anyone?....

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Trees, boxes, select walls and portions of scenery, windows, and doodads.

Imagine High Ground, but intact. Now you have to blow a hole in the bunker, the tunnel wall, and the tunnel. Magic.

Yea i would love to see BF:BC style destruction because it makes sure people arent hiding behind stuff for the whole match.

Who knows. The "Reach Around" engine could feature a destructible scenery. I would not like the damage of the scenery as extensive as the Frostbite engine otherwise gameplay can be changed dramatically just by marking certain buildings as "destructible".

But I honestly don't think Reach Engine will feature full scale distruction, maybe just to Halo 3's extent of destruction.

Yeah, but i'm sure a lot of people will complain because 'it changes the way we play halo.'

Ohh yeah

Shur3e, it would be great that we could break walls or something like that
