As you know the banshee in halo 3 is a cool vehicle but I think its time for the mechanics of it is old and needs a re-design. I really liked the scream of the Banshee as like in Halo Ce. I also think It should be a bit faster. some of you would argue that it would make the vehicle to powerful but you know that vehicles would go faster in real life also that the flying mechanics should be redesigned.

List of new ideas for the Banshee

-Banshee Scream like in halo 3, activates when u turbo it.
-Redesigned Crash and Damage Mechanics, examples{The Banshee is killed by a turrets, Energy comes out and it dives to the ground slides then explodes}
-Smoother Stunt controls, it doesn't slow as dramatically
-Motion Blur when turbo is activated it, makes it harder for splatter (to prevent the vehicle from being overpowered

as u know the hornet is the Human vehicle, the Hornet in my experience is a little slow and underpowered. here is my list for Improving the hornet
-Slightly faster (compensating for the banshee)
-Fast but Erratic Rockets (still hits vicinity of the target)
-Redesigned Sound
-Redesigned Crash and damage mechanics

The Banshee's plasma cannons need an upgrade. And trick to trick transition should be easier. I don't want to do one barrel roll, slow, then do another. I want to go from the first directly into the second.
The Hornet needs to be a Hawk. :3

The Banshee needs to operate like a fighter jet. It should be hard to manuever at high sppeda and be good for bombing and strafing runs. You should be able to shoot while boosting.

The hornet shoud operate like a helicopter gunship and fire volleys of dumb rockets that do a bit more damage than a brute shot.

Audio doesn't really affect gameplay. Also, this is highly subjective. You like the scream, others may not.

What vehicle would ever release random energy? This idea doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. Things explode when destroyed. Not 45 seconds later when it has slid around on the ground some.....

Banshee slows down on stunts for two reasons. 1) Maneuvering any airborne vehicle like that will reduce the amount of forward momentum and 2) there are many balance issues in allowing the Banshee to fly loops around the battlefield without slowing down. There needs to be a chance for missiles/rockets/laser to actually take it down.

So making it almost impossible to splatter something (which can only really work properly while turboing) "balances" the vehicle? I guess, since your previous changes make it almost impossible to shoot the damn thing down. Wait, that isn't balance. Right now, the Banshee is balanced. You don't go changing something just because the "mechanics are old". They work well - that's what matters.

It doesn't need to be faster. Making the vehicles function the same doesn't help with balance. It can easily beat a Banshee because the Banshee cannot hover. Thus, different functionalities are balanced.

Erratic? Thus, useless. How about, instead of that, we leave it where it is, seeing as how it can CARRY PEOPLE WITH WEAPONS on it.

Sound is, once again, subjective. I like the way it sounds now. You, I assume, don't. It doesn't affect gameplay. So, it is really up to Marty and what he thinks is best.


-Redesigned Crash and damage mechanics


Redesigned crash mechanics? Like what? Right now, it crashes and explodes almost exactly like a REAL helicopter would. Why change that?

What? It is far more powerful than that. It can take out a Banshee and other vehicles fairly quickly and is pretty effective against infantry. It is much closer to about 3/4's the power of the Warthog turret (adding together both turrets, of course).

I'd say it effects the gameplay. A banshee can easily sneak up behind you and ram you, and you have no idea it's even coming; if it had the Halo: CE scream, it'd be a bit easier to pay attention to.

Of course, you should be paying attention to your surroundings. The audio is not what causes the Banshee to sneak up behind you. You not paying attention to your motion sensor and actually looking around for enemies is what allows it to do so. That is called playing crappy. Use some situational awareness.

For Banshee: Take the Halo CE one, flies like the Halo 3 one with the flip abilities like in Halo 2 where you could do a backflip and within a split second do a side flip. In halo 3 the backflip must complete 100% before performing another flip.

The Hornet: Scrap it and put in either the Hawk(Halo Wars) or the Falcon

EDIT: the Falcon should fly similar to a Fighter jet in modern time but obviously not as fast.

The Hornet is way to strong.

The turret should be slowed to about a 10 shot burst. And the tracking system for the missiles should be disabled.

The standard Hornet is way overpowered while the Transport Hornet(Avalanche) is way underpowered.

Either redesign the hornet or give us a pelican, I do not hate the hornet ,but i believe it could be faster ,but give it less firepower for it's guns. I do not like the idea of respawning and getting taken out with a turrent just as good as the warthog turrent. Have it used in more objective games would be nice but for the banshee it is fine as it is.

For the pelican or phantom if they will put it in i suggest it have heavy armor so you don't get shot down easily and for weapons have the back of the pelican with a turrent and for the phantom the turrents as shown in halo 3. Another feature should be carrying vechicales like if you press rb to pick up a warthog or a tank and press lb to put 1 mongoose in the pelican. For a phantom press rb to carry 1 vechicale and lb to carry another vechicale. for examble 2 ghosts or 2 choppers or 1 wraith. For people riding in a pelican they should press rb while in the phantom you just jump in and stand until you feel like getting off.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

The Banshee is already way less powered than the Hornet. The Hornet doesn't need to be buffed.

The only thing I agree with you on is the Banshee Scream.

or let's say they replace the scream with a dive bomber buzzer from world war 2 imagine if someone flrs in and you hear that noise and your like what is that and then bam your on the ground waiting to respawn
