Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.
Intro: Reach
Halo Reach is a chance for Bungie to shine. Complete out do all expectations. Many folks here posting are just thinking of adding some features to the gamepley. I have a far greater idea in mind.
Gameplay
A squad of ODST or Spartans stand at your back. They automatically take cover and strategic defensive positions, curtsey of the advance game AI. You patch into a console and instruct your suit integrated AI to hack it, via mic or menu commands.
After doing so you bring up your squad status by pressing back. Separate icons appear at the bottom of your screen showing shields, heart beats, stamina, pressure, and injuries. Using another command either by voice or menu to establish communication with S.T.A.R.S. satellites over head (featured in Halo: Ghost of Onyx). You immediately get a predator style aerial view. You can switch the settings to show normal light, infa red, or increase sensitivity for dark areas.
You zoom in on a group of Covenant and tag them. You switch out from the satellite and there tags remain on your screen like mini way points. You approach the group of scouts. You and your squads advance suit systems outline the reach of there radar, line of sight, and other detection equipment as different colored lines on your screen. You assign 2 grunts a Spartan (or ODST) an give the order to fire simultaneously. The only thing they hear is there comrades silenced deaths before there own. Your squads heart beats didn't even flicker...
Cutscenes
Cutscenes would be actual acted scenarios. Depicting your squad as if a movie. The last image morphing into the actual game instead of simply ending. Mini cutscenes would take place throughout the game, showing combat from a viewers point of view and switching back to 1st person. Increasing the movie feel. As well as making an experience no other game or movie can match.
The class and design of cinema with the interactive structure of a video game.
