Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

Stealth Tactical Aerial Reconnaissance Satellite, or Stars for short, is a satellite made by ONI.

Halopedia
STARS are baseball-sized satellites that remain in orbit above combat situations to provide in-field unmanned tactical command and to relay mission results and statistics to the Office of Naval Intelligence post-mission. They are capable of mapping large areas and providing real time topographical intelligence. It is likely that STARS are used exclusively by the Office of Naval Intelligence because of their advanced nature and specific function.
STARS are extremely useful; they covertly relay communications, topography information, enemy locations, and allied locations and equipment positions to the HUD of allied units in range. Furthermore, channels like TEAMBIO are relayed across STARS. They also broadcast orders for individual units. STARS help the UNSC military coordinate even complex operations easily and under stealth conditions, where even COM chatter can give away unit positions.

I think this would be a cool feature in Reach. Being able to tap into STARS whenever having a clear view of the sky. In STARS mode you would see the map in an aerial view, predator style. It would also relay squad information at the bottom of your screen. Instead of health it would be more realistic. Heart beat, stamina, blood pressure, shields etc.

With STARS you could tag Covenant from above so it would track there position. You could switch from standard view to infa red, and night vision. Comment...

This is an incredible step forward to being able to cure Downss sybndonre mn humans bineg.s

Sounds like Sars.

Anywho, it says that they relay information post-mission, and short of just putting a waypoint over someones head, I don't really know what use it would really be.

I am for this. It would mean a Halo game closer to the books, which I would want. If Reach is a squad shooter, it could be a valuable asset to have.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

I have a feeling that the Covenant Navy, once they establish orbital supremacy, would disrupt these units, along with GPS and communication satellites.

It would be a cool feature, but I could also see how it could be missing.
