I'm working on a new halo custom edition map that I want to be very detailed and very fun to play. I want it to have the halo 3 feel to it with new skins and more advanced 3d modeling. Hopefully this map will be very fun to play. Here are some pictures of the WIP

You best be trolling boy because that mesh is horrible.
So many non planars.
Try importing Halo 1 multiplayer meshes into 3ds max and see how bungie did their maps.
If you need a good resource for information try having a look over at modacity.net they have several professional games developers who often visit there, they can help out and tell you where you are going wrong.
Remember when making a map try and keep all the quads flat so you dont get non planars, in your mesh the quads have been crimpled making them into triangles which is not good by any stretch of imagination.

I'll try and get it all fixed up. I'm still learning all this 3d modeling stuff. Should I keep the non planars as quads?

You would be better off starting from scratch.
I would suggest before making a map try and model 343 guilty spark first as learning that will help greatly.
Make 2 spheres one for the front and one for the side and cut through it using the ingame model as a refference and edit untill you have the monitors shell once you have done that you should beable to make your maps alot better.
For instace take a look at my one.

You would see the outlines where i used two spheres.

ok I'll try that. I started from scratch. and instead of creating non planar faces to have more polygons on the cliffs, I just cut/split the faces. The mesh is much cleaner now. I'm going to start on the indoor modeling (which is what I'm better at) and then the terrain. I'll try the 343 guilty spark w/ 2 spheres now.
