Subject: Bonus Missions/DLC Missions

Maps are great, but I would like a bit more variety for DLC.
So how about this: Single Campaign missions, which show a different aspect of reach or the halo universe.
Heres some Ideas:

Idea #1:During the battle of reach, a rogue brute ship (brutes were not supposed to be on reach thats why they are rogue) landed on reach and stole something important to the covenant (not necesserily a Forerunner artifact). The Covenant want it back, as well as removing all evidence of the brutes being on Reach.

You play as a SpecOps Elite (black armored ones) NOTE: you can play co-op you will be a squad of SpecOps Elites. Your objectives are to Recover what the brutes have stolen, Eliminate the brutes and eliminate anyone aware of their existance.
This means you will fight, brutes, marines and the covenant.
You spawn with: Energy Sword, Plasma Rifle (but the plasma rifle should be stronger in Reach anyway.)

Idea #2: You play as Spartan Blue team and fight against The United Rebel Front:
From halopedia
The United Rebel Front were a major Insurrectionist organization operating in the 111 Tauri System and other star systems during 2531 at the latest, which claimed to have a number of people suffering from Boren's Syndrome and that they were willing to trade some of their nuclear weapons in return for treatment for their people from UNSC doctors.[1] The UNSC sent in five Spartans, known as Blue Team, to take the weapons and kill any rebel leaders.[2] It turned out that the entire plan was an elaborate trap engineered by Graves to capture the Spartans and study them. The Rebels were unsuccessful in capturing the Spartans thanks to Spartan-051 who ambushed and killed numerous rebels including General Howard Graves, with an Asteroidea Anti-Personnel Mine while Graves was "interrogating" the rest of the Spartans, who were unable to move due to the effect of Neural Inhibitor Collars.

Maybe even a recreation of the first level of Halo CE? That would be a good extension. =P

Thank you for reading and please comment.
Also, feel free to post your own ideas!

Just enjoy the damn game!
Who cares about BR vs AR

So a downloadable mission pack telling a different story to the one in the main campaign, or from a different point of view? That, my friend, is genius.

Signatures are for squares.

Why are we talking about DLC?

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

You really like your rogue Brutes on Reach idea don't you? I don't think that there's any problem with Brutes seeing limited ground deployment on Reach as Loyalist Covenant forces (loyalist as in not rogue, nothing to do with the Schism yet).

Yes I agree, but if that doesn't happen then the Rogue brutes are the alternative.
However for my mission idea it needs Rogue brutes to work .

Yeah thats why I put Bonus in the title, because they could include it in the game but its not likely.

This doesn't seem to be getting many replies should I change the title or something?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Idea #1 is totally non-canon and ridiculous. The possibility of us seeing Brutes in Reach is actually fairly high, although they were not mentioned in the Book IT IS TRUE that the Book only covered a VERY SMALL PORTION of the massive battle that took place at Reach, Brutes could have been employed ANYWHERE. Don't even try to say "They werent allowed to pilot ships, or fight at Reach." Because you cannot prove this, there is no proof that what you said is true. There is, however, evidence in the Cole Protocol that they DID have permissions, when the Jiralhanae Shipmaster was sent as an escort to Thel 'Vadamee's ship.

Idea #2 you just copied from the book, so it is fairly possible we COULD see this.

I would much rather fight brutes as elite covenant mercenaries than bandit brutes. This is just an alternative.

Remember,
It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

I like the idea of having extra missions in the form of dlc.
It would add longevity to the game and would add to the already brilliant backstory of the halo universe which is never a bad thing.
Kudos to you for thinking it up.

...Does anyone really read these?

MY IDEA:
A bonus mission where you play as a pilot transporting important cargo and you get attacked by covenant banshees and if you are in Co-op then the normal AI on the guns would be replaced by you friends. Half would be in space and half would be in the atmosphere and it would end with the ship (Longsword/Pelican/Freighter) being blown up and you have to abandon the cargo and jump out!

MY OTHER IDEA:
Mission where you play as your squads sniper (SEE BANNER ABOVE) and you have to protect the main assault team (THE OTHER GUYS IN BANNER) By providing sniper cover. If you do poorly, your friends will be shot and you will FAIL! Co-op would not be allowed for this one.

MY NEW NEW IDEA:
Missions in the training grounds where you play as your spartan team as their younger selves. If you have read TFOR or the that Flashback part in FS then you will know what i am talking about.

KTHNXBAI!
