Since Halo: Reach is rumored to have some sort of intergration with Natal, I was thinking about how it would be used. Instead of using it to guide through menus or using it to play the game, why not use it to personalize your character?
What I am talking about it a system similiar to what was done in Rainbow Six. You were allowed to use your Xbox Vision Camera to map your face and put it on your character. When it was done, you could go through the story or multiplayer as yourself.
Natal follows movement and I believe can read facial features in a certain game in it. If it can read facial features, can it be be turned into a facial map?
The Steps
1. Plug In Natal
2. Load Halo: Reach
3. Under A Possible Option In A Customization Menu, Select "Facial Map"
4. Take A Picture Of Your Face And Apply Mo-Cap-esqe Dots To Areas Of Your Face ie Mouth, Nose, Ears, Eyes
5. Save
6. Aplly Your Face To Your Spartan
7. Play Halo: Reach
Now, there are two issues I can see with this. The first deals with the basic fact you are a Spartan. Spartans usually wear helmets. However, if a feature to toggle your helmet off after you make a facial map of yourself is made, this solves the problem.
The second problem would fall with people using it to photogrpah the more inappropriate parts of their body. This could be countered by a new complaint program and strict bans. Plus, unless you want to spend a good amount of money just to make a junk faced Spartan, you wouldn't even bother.
Perhaps if you do not have Natal, but do have a Vision Camera, you could use your Cam.
If this feature was available, would you use it or would you allow it? Do you have any suggestions?
No Toggle
I have recieved a suggestion about making helmet have low polarization that would allow you to retain your helmet yet still see your face.
