93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

I was just thinking how the reason Halo:CE was rated M for Mature was because of the flood (a statement that Bungie themselves issued). Now if Reach is a true prequel that adheres to the Halo storyline, that means that there can not be any Flood on reach. If there are no Flood on reach, that would mean the game could be rated T for Teen.

Now I was also thinking about Microsofts new "casual" strategy, and how Bungie mentioned Natal was pretty cool. Hence, Reach could be a "launch" title on Natal, and Microsoft might want a Teen rating? As they could market Reach to "kids' then?

I would be a bit disappointed, but I wouldn't really care that much. What do you think? I think I might be disappointed if Halo went super casual or something. Of course if Halo 3 without flood would be T for Teen that would work as well.

I never understood how Halo was not rated teen before.

ok, floods. that's it. there's almost no blood, no violence, and the graphics are pretty cartoony...
and I hope (and believe) that you're wrong about natal and Reach being R.

Yeah its pretty much just the flood I think. So if reach is a true prequel (and there isn't any funny time travel or anything), and it follows the Halo Canon that we are aware off, that means no flood. Which could mean it would be rated Teen. It might be interesting to see if Reach sold a ton more copies with a Teen rating. Or not.

Halo and other shooters are rated M cause they're shooting games with blood and some cursing

Its rated m mostly cause the main part of the game is killing people with guns

also

some parents dont want there children to be playing shooting games cause they're afraid there kids will think its ok to shoot people. that's why ESRB rates them M and they have to get their parents permission

(One nutcase played Grand Theft Auto and thought it was real and took a car and tried running over people and crap like that so parents got afraid after that)

the only shooting game i can think of that's rated T might be a 007 game or something. M rated shooting games aren't necessarily bad, just check why it is rated M. If your not 17 your parents will probably let you get it if it doesnt say its rated m for nudity or something

Halo:CE was going to be rated Teen. Call of Duty 2 is a fairly violent game with blood and violence, and its rated "T".

Violent Video Games don't make Violent People. That's my argument.

get out of here stalker

The ESRB must be quite overreactive.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Without the flood I can't see a huge difference between Battlefield and COD ( before COD 4) in the violence level.

I mean in Battlefield you are killing humans, but in Halo you are killing aliens.

Hopefully Halo Reach is rated M so that would be less annoying screaming kids on Xbox Live.

Signatures are for squares.

Halo Reach has a MUCH darker tone then the rest of the other games. This was seriously the battle that nearly decided the war. Humans got butchered at Reach, Millions were killed. We are going to be playing the goriest battle in the entire war.

If it didn't stop them before, it won't stop them now.

ODST is the darker storyline I think. Also your describing about every single Halo game there.

That is the "book" attitude. Halo games have a lighter tone then the books.
