that would be good but i think spartans should carry 1 to 2 and odst carry 1 if they can carry one at all

for use on enemies with heavy armor?

If you introduce it in campaign, people would question why its not in Multiplayer. And it would definately not work in MP.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Considering I can wield two SMGs at the same time, I think I should be able to wield two swords at the same time.

They each only take up one hand anyway...

  • 09.07.2009 3:50 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Actually, in the first Halo game it wasn't necessary because you couldn't even single-wield them. But anyway, the way the targeting system is now, you can still only attack one person at a time with them.

But its a one-hit kill anyway!

Why would Bungie do something pointless?

There is no point. The sword is usually a one hit kill anyway. Why have more than one?

OMG, is so hard to uderstand...

lets see, think. 5 Ulta Elites come to attack you... you have one sword. You attack one Elite the other 4 attack you = Elites win, dual weild swords would be useful to attack more than one enemy

5 Ultra Elites come to attack you, don't use the damn sword!!!!

  • 09.07.2009 3:57 PM PDT

wile the enemies where getting stronger and with better IA bungie had to upgrade the chief as well... thats why Master Chief form Halo 3 is like a god and Master Chief from Halo CE is just a normal human, the enemies form Halo Reach will be harder to kill than every other enemy in the Halo trology thats why new upgrades are needed

The enemies are getting stronger in time... Reach is a prequel... The enemies will be stronger?

oh.. you will die then. Unless you play on easy

What? By running away you almost guarantee yourself more survival time, charging in with a sword even on easy will be suicide!

m... is a prequel yes but it'll fall 2010 so is new, Halo 3 ODST takes place in Halo 2 era and the enemyes are stronger than in Halo 2 why bugnie would make a worst IA? just because it takes place in the same time line? NO, what you are sayign doesn't make sense is a new game or not? IS NEW that means BETTER IA

Sorry its AI, not intelligence artificial, we don't all speak like Yoda XD.

You mean in terms of game development? Of course it will be harder, its a new game, but the way you described it sounded like the Covenant in-game were getting tougher.

ok, but 2 swords are better than one' yes or no? YES!! what if you are playing in heroic you have a gun and 2 swords, 5 Ulta Elites come out you can win... with one sword you will likely die.

The piont is 2 swords are better than one.

I would never get into a close combat situation where two swords are needed, as death would be the most likely outcome. Swords are only useful with many weak enemies that you can kill in one hit, without a massive risk of death.

oh.. sorry AI... xD
the enemies are like "better" the elites from Halo 2 are harder to kill than the ones in Halo CE.
I guess for Halo reach the elites will be much harder to kill.

oh... we don't have the same style of fight thats the problem. I only use the sword with big and strong enemies, I would never use a sword against a grunt.

They won't be, purely for canonical reasons. The Elites didn't have better armour before CE, and the humans didn't have weaker weapons before CE. However the battles will be harder.

  • 09.07.2009 4:18 PM PDT

I think you should not just be able to duel wield swords, but quadruple wield them. The chief would hold one in each hand, one would be straped to his torso, and one would be held in his teeth. And when you only have one equiped, you can throw it like a battle axe.

I don't think so, that is not part of the canon. If it was part of the canon then the enemies of ODST wouldn't be as hard to kill as the ones of Halo 2...
Halo has a retroactive continuity: "the deliberate changing of previously established facts in a work of serial fiction"
If you were right the enemies of Halo 2 would be as "strong" as the ones in ODST

They aren't because there is a slight time gap between Halo 2 and ODST. Brutes have their shiney Halo 3 armour, but Grunts and Jackals are as hard to kill as in Halo 2. Remember you are an ODST as well, so you are not as strong as a Spartan.

The reason the enemies are harder to kill is probably because your an ODST not the MC, plus play Halo 3 with the Mythic Tilt and Thunderstorm and you will have just as strong enemies. Dual swords would be cool but not required.

is not a slight time gap, Halo 3 ODST takes place during ONE day. in the timeline when ODST finishes the Master Chief was searching for regret in Delta Halo.

the death brutes in High Charity from the level Cortana in Halo 3 don't look like the ones in Halo 2, see? I told you Retroactive continuity.
It doesn't matter that you are a ODST the enemies are harder to kill but MORE harder because they are the same as the ones form Halo 3 so...
Retroactive continuity!!!

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they must be harder to kill but they are MORE harder than they should be because they are the same enemies that the ones in Halo 3
