Should it be implemented for Halo: Reach?

There's no real reason that I can think of to not add personalized control schemes; it's not imbalanced in any way as anyone can choose it to their liking. It was like a breath of fresh air when I played The Orange Box and had every option possible as to how I wanted to customize my control scheme; I'd love to be able to aim down scope with my left trigger, reload with X, or have D-Pad down to deploy equipment in Halo.

Thoughts?

it was suggested back in the H3 forums.

and people said something very clever (for once) : it'd make button glitching a lot more easier if you could customize every buttons.
I know what you'll say "but bungie will fix it/wont let any button glitch" but lets face it, there is ALWAYS a glitch in a game.

it'd make glitching easier.

Yes, I want to be able to repicate bumper jumper.

Great point that few people have paid attention too.

I myself wouldn't change any basic controls.

What i would like to change though is that i want vehicle control customization.

I know for a fact in Halo CE you could change your controls.

I ALWAYS do the hog driving for my team and i would prefer to have LB as my emergency brake instead of A. This is just a little want of mine that may be similar to the thoughts of other players.

Do you mean as customized controllers?

no, I mean the same thing as you. jumping with Y, brakes with RB, switching weapons with A, etc. customizing controls.

imagine if in H2 you could have that much control? it'd have been a hell to play, everybody would bxb or bxr and it'd be even more easy...

I don't see how it would make glitching easier; the big reason there isn't any as of Halo 3 is through slow animations/delays, etc.

If Bungie did the same as in Halo 3 and focused on glitches based on function rather than what button does what, then it would work. For example: If a glitch requires you to switch weapons, shoot, then switch weapons and shoot, and it was extremely fast, I wouldn't make a difference what buttons are easier to access if there's a delay between shooting, or switching, or whatever.

But everybody did B-X-R in halo 2 and I don't honestly see being any easier even if you made it B-A-X. and if you're thinking about making one button do a BXR. that's called a macro and nobody here is taking about macro-ing there button controls.

Well maybe if Bungie decided to make a game where pressing buttons =/= insta kill, yes, I would like this idea.

Don't ask about the name-- it's a long story

Yes. In ODST I would switch X and RB (VISR and reload, respectively).
Seriously? It would be way easier to use VISR AND aim AND shoot. i got used to X to reload when I played other games besides Halo 3 for a few months *gasp*
So if it was available for Reach I would buy it. Makes controls better.
