lol - this is ironic eh, Hankey? After all the stuff you've pulled you want help? I'll stay out of this ethical dilemma because I don't know how to fix this, but SLD will have a decision to make.

all i can think of is that your sound card might be corrupt and u might take it to a computer place to let them check it out or it might even be the speakers can not handle the halo sound and therefor you should get upgraded speakers.

Does the sound chop itself after the first shot? I mean, does it do this if you squeeze and hold the trigger of the pistol:

pow-p-p-p-p-pow

try turning off eax for a while and see what happens. sometimes all sound just doesn't seem to work, then i turn off eax, and it works fine.

Your sound card doesn't "go corrupt". Your settings are probably too high for your machine. It won't be the speakers, not for this kind of problem. Try updating your soundcard drivers.

Corrupt as in a piece broken.

If that's true then you wouldn't hear sound. At all. A 'broken piece' on a computer component not only means it will not work, because of its sensitivity, but that it is probably irreperable. Even one tiny blown transistor means the ultimate death of a component. If anything its the sound drivers or the fact that his system isn't fast enough for the sound/settings aren't right.

What are your pc's specs? I need processor, RAM, video card, sound card, hard drive, speakers, etc. Also, what are the sound settings you have enabled in Halo.

HOw do you turn off eax? And teh sound just cuts in and out. Sometimes I start a game and it will have sound for emptying 2 rounds of the pistol then it will cut in and out like u hear 1 shot then not the other. NOw its getting 2 the point where rockets do that and when i get double kills, triple kills, running riots, etc It doesnt announce it, it just says i killed them. and yes i killed them at the same time. Let me go get my computer info and I will post it here. I know my comp doesnt meet the requirements 2 play halo but recently my comp messed up so i had 2 uninstall everything then redo it. Thats when Halo did that. But before i restored my computer 2 factory condition Halo and CE Worked fine with no sound problems.

Hmm, the onboard video seems suspect of causing problems. How much RAM do you have and what soundcard do you use? And what are the settings you have enabled in Halo for sound? Do you have hardware acceleration?

The last two you can check in Halo's setting's menu, the first two you can get by looking under My Computer -> [on the left] View system information [RAM should be here] -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> sound devices [or some similar name] -> should be one device or a few

halo uses a lot of simultaneous sounds, more than my realtek alc655 can handle sometimes. its probably that his sound card cant process enough simultaneous sounds and is cutting out or something. either that or the driver is messed up. i would look into the latter first
