Is there no way to adjust the packet rate or connection for the dedicated server? I've never had an online game where that was not possible and I would like to even the field a little.
Reason for it, someone connects with a 10mb line, which many cable subscribers have now, and they gobble up all the bandwidth. Leaving little for a 56k or even a 1mb dsl user. Since there is no rcon or line arguement, is there a file that can be edited to adjust that?
What is the normal rate? I read a thread somewhere that said 8k up per user, and 35k back from the server. That seems high to me.

Thank you for any suggestions or help.

Around 25 kilobits/client will give a low lag game.

Right, so how can i force dedicated to follow that rule? I'm talking about a dedicated game from a game server.

if you like going through the complicated and scary to use registry editor, you can look there. I don't know if this will help you at all, but just a guess.

another suggestion, put "ppl with superfast connections not welcome" in your server title. ask every person that comes into your server what their connection speed is, and estimate their honesty with their ping. If they say they have superhigh speed or low ping, just kick or ban them.

That's a little extreme, eh? Kicking people? Why not run a CE server with the delagginator - won't that help fix the problem?

You don't "set the server", that is just a general amount of usage per client. You won't get the fast connections hogging the bandwidth from the slower ones enough that you can notice it.

I would never kick players for connection, a CE server, yes already running one as well, but to many people are to lazy to do the same. So why can some of the CE features not be added in an update for PC. The delagolator is really great, but server logs, sv_say command, a few of those would be really nice for halo PC as well. They just make moderating so much easier.
