So many memories, but one sticks out. It was on assult on the conrol room, legendary, and i was on my own. i was on the first brige and there was this pesky elite shooting me. i decided to give him a chrismas presant and threw a plasma grenade at him. unfortunatly it did not lland on him, but next to hi. the elite knew it was there and jumped out of the way, only he jumped of the briged lol!!! guess he rather fall to his death then get blown up :) i went to the edge and watched as he fell to the very bottom :)

my best memory would have to be the time my friend was in a worthoh and i threw a plasma gernade on the back of it and he turned around facing me and the genade blew up and i turned around to kill my brother and the worthog landed on me as i was in zoom with a lock on to my brother. i was cracking up.

i was playing a 2v2 on damnation, my teammate and i hella sucked at first, but i got so pissed of we were losing bad, so i grabbed the rl and shotgun and started kicking a$$. later, 49-48, i was losing. the two enemies ran together and i rocketed them into the water with a double kill. i had most kills :). good exciting game, almost got heart attack

My parents bought me my x-box for christmas. The day after, I went out and I bought Halo. I played it for quite a while. But I'd have to say, My fondest memory of that game was when I killed my first pair of Hunters on The Truth and Reconciliation. Most of my Marines were dead and they weren't hitting enything with their fire. I charged in there and emptied almost all of my ammo into these aliens. it was Awesome when I saw the last one go down. :)

Another one i have thought of. it was playing it for the first time ever. it was on easy and i was on assult on the control room. i was riding the scorpion tank and was underground, at the part were there is that bridge and like two dozen covenant guys on the other side. well, i blew them up, and had parked the tank in an awark place close to he ledge. i was still geting used to controling the vehicles nd i accidentally drove it back over the edge, as over half of the tank was over, it started to tip over and i thought "oh -blam!-" and quickly got out and managed to jump back to the edge. but the marine who was sitting outside the tank was not so lucky...i watch that poor guy and the tank fall to the bottomless pit. and i had to walk the rest of the way :(

Before I post my memories I just wanna say that I've been a hardcore RPG/RTS player ever since I got serious about gaming, and that Halo is my first serious FPS so what was an unexpected moment of triumph to me is probably child's play to most of you.

First: Way back in 2000 right before I went through a big move I bought a pc gaming mag since I couldn't find an EGM and had nothing else to read. While reading through it two articles in particular caught my interest, one being Halo and the other Oni and I remember thinking to myself "wow these games are really going to change the face of gaming" (1 out of two ain't bad lol), but never really gave it much more thought till after both were released.

Second: Well just got my Xbox with Halo 5 days ago in preperation for Halo 2 (only reason I bought an XBox). So I'm playing through not doing to bad at all for my first FPS and then during the Reunion Tour when you first encounter Jackals I was at full shields but one health bar and no ammo (I wasted it all blindly shooting at the Elite that had just nearly killed me). So I come across the three Jackals by the lifeboat thinking screw it I'll just let them kill me so I can start from my last checkpoint, then I charge them taking hits all the while and manage to gunbutt the first one, discovering it only takes one melee attack to kill them. After finding this out I start strafing thinking I may have a chance after all and manage to kill the last two and then stock up on health and ammo at the lifeboat...I know most of you are probably thinking "I can do that level with my eyes closed", but man what a feeling of triumph :)

i have several, but i'll just share these two multiplayer ones so i dont bug.

ok. number one. hang em high.

ok so im running along the catwalk above the weermvunk (-blam!-.: wee erm vunk, what we call the invisibility powerup, lol). anyway. im running along, preparing to turn the corner and drop down to get a shotty. a rocket comes flying at me from about ten feet away, where my invisible buddy is, and i jump just in time to not to be killed, only ive shot up about fifteen feet in the air. the rocket kills another one of my buddies behind me. (they were trying to pin me in to kick my ass, coz im a tuff some-blam!- on HEH.) anyway, apparently the guy behind me was holding a shotgun coz i see a "hold x to swap for shotty" light up on my screen and pick it up, firing 2 shots at mr. rocketeer, and i finish it off with a wicked melee right as i hit him in the forehead as i land on top of him. i swear to god i heard the helmet cracking.lol

aight number two. sidewinder

i see a ghost and tank duking it out in the ice puddle near the overshield in the center of the horseshoe. a warthog with a gunner is coming up from the right, guns ablazing. theyre all goin at it and i fire a rocket into the fray from on foot, several yards away. and immediately switch to my sniper rifle. the ghost ramps over the tank as the cannon fires, spinning wildly about 20 feet in the air and i pull off a headshot, killiing the ghostdriver. the rocket hits the tank as the warthog passes by, killing the gunner and tankdriver. the warthog driver gets out and as hes trying to board the tank, the ghost falls on him, killin em dead. in my triumphant revelry for said deeds, i fail to notice that another buddy has dropped down from the ridge to the right of me, and he whacks me in the back. but, oh, what a glorious 2.38 seconds.

when i first found out about hunters having a weak spot that was pretty cool, making my friend go and get killed by him, then, tutting i saunter over dodge his melee attack and shoot him in the back, perfect, my mate could have fitted a football in his mouth, his jaw dropped so much (my mate was the guy who converted me from PS2 to xbox after the PS2 broke in just 18 months of normal play. xbox has survived twice as long and still going strong)

also completing the maw, on my own, on legendary, in under 8 mins, without dying, was tough and i finished drenched in sweat, official time was 7:52

i'm looking for other people in malta with xbox's to battle against, tough hunting to say the least

This one time an Elite with a sword sliced through a bridge full of flood to get to me.
And then for me to kill him for all his trouble and walk unapposed across the bridge.

3. playing assult on the control room, being chased by a gold elite with a plasma sword, and accidently warpong my friend right in front of it

oh man so many I can't begin to count. I got an Xbox in the couple weeks that came out, and I've been playin halo every day since. hmmmm one of my best memories is when I first jumped in the warthog, and thought god this is awesome. And desperatly wanting to be a gunner. ANd then there was the guilty spark that level took forever, on co-op! Me and friend I was playing with nearly crapped our pants when we first saw the flood. There was also that time on halo on legendary..... I should stop now.

First: 2-on-2 team slayer in longest. 50 kill limit. i got 37. heh, that shut 'em up

Second: the same smart-asses played me 3-on-1in Blood Gulch to shut me up. and.... I shut 'em up again. 28 kills.

Actually the first memory should have read: turning on Halo for the first time and watching the intro- I was already dumbfounded.

Heh, me and 16 friends used to play Halo every weekend. (now it's more like every month) At my first one I got owned in the first two games. The third game though at Hang 'em High I took on 3 of the best people all by myself and I was the only one to walk out alive...then I got rocketed. Now though I'm the fourth best, which makes me kinda happy since no one under me is anywhere close to being better than me (everyone from the 5th best down sucks). Although I can't compare to the three guys that are better than me.

considering i've been playing since day 1, i have wayyy too many memories to recall. the standouts have to be my first time playing co-op, my first 16 player lan party, the 3 hour sidewinder ctf 8 vs. 8 match (yeah, 3 hours and no one took a break...actually, i don't even think anyone blinked).

but i can recall the single most outstanding "play" i'd ever had...
about 9 other people and i were playing a team game on sidewinder with all vehicles. one of my adversaries was rounding the bend in a tank just as i came flying around in my ghost (with a rocket launcher tucked away). he fired as soon as he saw me, but missed by about a foot. as i unloaded the plasma on him, i charged full speed right for the tank. as i ramped off the turret , i bailed out of the ghost roughly 20 feet in the air above him, spun around, and fired a rocket. he had no idea what hit him. ; )

First post!

Touching on what someone else said, I remember the year when Halo was going to come out. More distinctly I remember me and 2 of my friends mesmerized as we watched through a game store window the little preview of the game that would dominate our lives for the next few years. This little 2-3 minute bit of Halo mesmerized us as it played over and over again and we sat there and watched it, over and over again.

We were tugged away from the screen with regret and a "We gotta play that!" attitude

We did play it. I remember falling asleep with the controller in my hand on The Library. The jump when all of the sudden i'd be smacked from behind by a flood monster. Overall that first night of Halo was very memorable.

Now down to specific times.

Well me and my two friends quickly became the "best" in our area. We held a small gathering of local halo players every saturday. About 10-16 in all. I remember one epic capture the flag game, it was me, Drake and my two friends Andrew and Payton, who were then known as Phantom and Morpheus repectively against about 12 other people. What transpired is surely the stuff of legends. I'm talking about 4 hours of brutal base defending on Blood Gulch with a 3 second timer! This was good news for the little noob zerglings who spawned 3 seconds after we killed them, but bad news for us. But still, we held on until the end. Even though we ended up losing. In that same game I remember we held the top of the enemys base for 15 minutes, twas great.

In another similar matchup of CTF, but with less opponets, on blood gulch i recall our flag was stolen and it was 2-0 enemy.

Me and Morpheus are zerging their base while Phantom stays back and defends. It was all going well for about 10 minutes when i get a call across the room. "They got our flag, get ready!" I don't know if this caused a brain fart in me and Morpheuses mind, but it must have done something as we both died soon after. I quickly respawned and hopped into the Warthog heading toward the opposite base with Morpheus jumping in as the Gunner. I see Phantom come through the portal with the sniper rifle as me and Morpheus drive past trying to catch up with the other warthog, whose passenger currently had our flag!. BAM! Our warthog got slammed with a rocket round from behind and the warthog was flipped and Morphues was slain. I jumped away from the flying reckage to meet my rocketeer. Then swore when i realized what weapon I had, me being the rash idiot that I am didnt grap the regular pistol when I spawned, had only the plasma pistol (dumb settings, wasnt our chose but our opponets way of keeping us contained with the 3 seconds respawns and the dumb weapon defaults). I charged up a shot and ran straight towards him.

I had some luck, because apparently this peon had not read the "Halo 101 : Rocket Firing while on level ground" Wherin he would have read that when you are on level ground you do not, and let me stress, do not fire the rocket direct shot straight at an opponet. What you really should do is jump in the air and fire the rocket at their feet. So he fired the rocket and a ducked as it wissed past my head. His second mistake was not immediately reloading after the shot to the warthog. So while he reloaded I shot the charged shot and wacked! him while his shields were down.

I quickly recovered and watched in agony as I saw their flag carrier arrive at their base and go up the ramp. I flipped the warthog and got in starting toward their base hoping for a miracle, when out of the corner of my eye I saw on Phantoms screen the sniper zoom right on the flag carrier as he ran across the top of the base. Everything seemed to stand still as the flag carrier was just on the ledge of the drop leading towards the base. Then the echoing sniper shot ran throughout the halo arena. Phantom got him! I coudnt believe it, I drove the short way towards their base as the crys of "NO WAY!" echoed from the other room.

It was then a rush to see who could get to the flag first. I went up the ramp and apparently was being tailed by many people, Because I heard the from from across the room the beautiful sounds of "Double Kill" then "Triple Kill" Morpheus had gotten the sniper rifle and gone through the portal himself to begin a little noob killing of his own. I dropped into the hole and returned out flag.

This gave us a boost of confidence (gee wonder why) and we ended up winning that CTF game 3-2.

That's my little "unique" halo experience, there were many others and hopefully there will be many more to come once Nov 9 rolls around.

Halo 2 finally convinced me to get Xbox Live! so that will be a ton of fun :)
