i love rocket miracle shots!

mine isn't as dramatic though...

well, the enemy team got the flag (sidewinder, and it was like 6v7 or something) and the flagbearer along with 2 buddies were returning in a warthog. I was on the rocket cliff near their base and fired off 2 toward the door to their base. I fired about the second with about 5 seconds difference, in case my timing was way off. it wasn't. the first rocket nailed the hog and killed all 3. 2 people baseguarding went to get the flag and they both got hit with the second rocket. fortunately someone else on my team was there otherwise they would have scored because someone came up behind me and hit me in the back...

and another time on sidewinder a was a good distance from the enemy base and I was shooting in rockets, just hoping to get a random kill and create confusion. boy did it ever create confusion. The two people baseguarding started arguing whether someoen was close and throwning grenades or rockets. The one saying grenades is like, "look, I'll just go kill the bastard. trust me." then the other is like, "I better go too cuz you suck." ... two sniper shots later and both are dead.

Another good memory is when I got my Halo Edition Xbox and hooked it up to my 50 in plasma tv and watched all the Halo 2 trailers. Another is on Legendary 2 Betrayals where the huge battle is with the flood and covie right near the third generator with the banshees. I was on my ghost, barrelling through the flood and covie, I ramp off one wraith(wraith #1), at the same time, the other wraith(wraith #2) shoots the wraith I ramped off of(wraith #1), destroying wraith #1, boosting me through the air in my ghost, I jump out of my ghost, and land in a banshee. A moment almost impossible to redo. Believe me, I've tried it more than 100 times before. Never worked again.

5 years? Damn. It doesn't seem like that.

My favourite memory was the whole ramble and everything leading up to the release. It was much more special when everyone was waiting for Halo, then it is now for Halo 2 - because it was so unknown. I remember hearing word about this new game, for this new console that I couldn't afford (I was still seeping what was left out of Mario Kart 64). The game was released, and my birthday was about 2 months later. I never expected my parents to get it for me, but they did, the night before my party.

That party was the best - we jammed out on my fresh new Xbox (my mates brang one controller and one game each - they had had their boxes for a few week already, and they all had Halo - (you can't have an Xbox with no Halo) - but had never played multiplayer. We played for about 12 hours straight, and didn't even touch one of the other 5 games we had.

We drank so much soft drink, and ate so much pizza that we all went out to my backyard to do dunks on my half-size basketball ring (keep in mind this is at about 1AM). Most of us can usually dunk a regulation - 11ft ring! But we couldn't even slam this 8ft ring because we were so fat, and had been lying on couches for 12 hours.

The first 6 months before the release, and the months after the release were the most special times of Halo. However, don't take me wrong - Halo still owns!

My best memory ingame is probably sitting down a few weeks after my party with one of my mates. We had clocked the game on easy, and decided to take the challenge of Legendary. We both took it really slow on co-op, and took about 12 hours to do it. We came up with a 'kamikazi' technique (we found out later that this technique is oftenly used) - clear out a safe area (a small room) and have one guy camp there. Get the other dude to run in and kill as many as he can, and die. He spawns back with the other dude, and it's his turn - it takes for ever, but is really effective. Another technique was our 'guerilla' technique. The same as kamikazi, but you use this on huge levels - and prefferably don't want to die. Your small room is forever changing, and the camper needs to make himself even more secret. You use the 'one killer dies, spawns - next guys go', until you have another area (closer to the end of the level) that you both move to.

One on One split screen, a casual Slayer Pro, 24-24, being chased up from the shotgun house near the invisibility on Hang 'Em High, He had a shotgun, I a pistol, a quick grenade and a long shotgun shot, had lowered me to 2 bars, one more shell to win the match , as I was falling onto the ramp, I harnessed my raw skill as he leaped after me to finish the job, Three shots to the head before he could even pull the trigger. "Game Over" 25-24.

Of all my friends, I am the best, I'm not boasting, I'm leading to a point, A deathmatch between me and a guy called matt, a friend of a friend of mine, had been shedueled for a barbecue, in which we would link up 2 xboxes via system link, for a one on one on Hang 'Em High. As most good stories go, it was at a tense moment, 24-24. Next kill wins. After being shot in the back by my slow firing opponent (his main hand gun weakness) I had lost 2 bars, but was still in the blue, so fearing for my life, I ran, retrieved the insvisibility and the rocket launcher. He had just started going up the walkway at the far side of the arena, and I was coming towards him past the elevated red flag base, as I leaped from my perch, I heard faintly from the other room, if I can just get into the corner here, I'll see him coming. With that I fired the rocket, and ended the game with an almighty cheer, supported by my faihful supporters. It was beautiful, I was triumphant, and declared the best at Halo, in our little group anyway.

Multiplayer Blood Gulch Rally Race
I had gotten blown out of my hog so I ran for the point it was on the path in the side of the mouintain near the red base. My friend drive the warthog up and we race to it, I make it first and he is about to hit me. I jump and he falls off the hill but not before I put a plasma on the bumper. Good times.

Like many of the people here, my best memory was the first time I had played. I had never even seen an X-Box up close outside of a store. It was also my first time to my friends house for his birthday party. It was the biggest house I had ever seen and there was a huge room with the Electric Recliners and a big widescreen tv. Well, because it was before all of us were really into HALO, we only had one box and that means only 4 people could play, but we had 5/6 people there. Well, anyways, this being my first time, I think I did pretty good. Not nearly as good as I am now, but pretty good. The map was Blood Gulch and we did Team Slayer, regular settings. We all kept finding new little spots to sit and snipe at and even screenwatching wasnt really working. The game lasted for at least and hour and we were only going to 25. Well, having never played, I didnt think I could come in 2nd. From that point on, I was truly hooked on HALO. I even saved my lunch money forever and sold my Playstation and all 25 games, my Mad Catz sontollers, and memory cards to obtain my own X-Box and HALO. Well, the rest is history.....wonderful history that I will never forget. I just cant wait for the day that my kid says that HALO is old and that HALO 5 on the X-Box III is better. The thought of HALO being the Pong of its time just makes me happy alone. {:/\()

One of my favorite memories of Halo was at one of my many LANs that I went to. It was this last christmas and we had a 8vs8 CTF, which is hell. But anyways on to the good stuff. My team was red side, and we managed to push them back into their base. One of my good friends were the best snipers at that LAN, we were playing Blood Glutch and we managed to get up on the left side of the blue base on the cliff. Me being stupid fell down and I had to assualt snipe which I only got one person when I fell. My friend grabed my sniper rifle, and we had both Warthogs and we told them to raid the base. And as soon as they took off all hell broke loose. My friend started giving them covering fire. I was waiting to respawn and while that was happening I watched him do his magic. He yelled two coming out, and everyone in the first warthog jumped out with thier shotties and my friend killed one with a head shot and shot the other in the chest taking off his shields. And then my other team mate came around the corner at the same exact time and punched him in the chest which killed him. Then they rushed in and grabed the flag, by that time some had respawn so our second warthog came around and started making things even more fun to watch as the ran over and made covering fire for the first warthog. Pretty much everyone died but we still got the score ^_^.

Another time, we were getting owned badly. We were blue this time and I managed to get away from all the action and try to go solo and capture the flag by my self. So I started walking around the corner on red base because of the motion detectors (which I find stupid) and I heard the other team arguing who gets the sniper rifle after one picked it up. Saying stuff like "You suck with that damn weapon your just going to die if you go out there." and so on. And I found that really funny while standing behind them for a few secs and I pulled out my trusty shottie to make sure I could handle them. I guess I moved so much that I showed up on the radar, so he turn around gun blazing and shot him point blank and I hit the other in the back taking his sniper rifle, grabed the flag and scored.

And my last great memory that I could recall, was when I had my birthday party and this was really close match. All of us were pulling off amazing tricks. Still Blood Glutch, they stole our flag so I ran after them with my sniper rifle. They ran in like mobs of 3, I managed to pick off one of them and I kept running after them. Right before they were going to drop in to their base to score the guy jumped up in the hair to land in side to score. He was like not even a half a second away from scoring. When I shot him in the back of the head and the flag droped right inside of their base. Which there is ALAWYS some one inside of the their base so they still scored but it was funny that the guy didn't get to score because of that. Then shortly after that we did a Hog run and I was in the passagener seat while rushing towards the other base. Our gunner got shot off with a rocket which strangly only hurt him and blew him straight off and a Hog with out a gunner is just a death sentence so I got out of the hog and timed it to get out and grabed on to the back of the gunner seat and held them off till our back up came :). The score was 4 to 3 them, we just grabed the flag when the game just paused...my dog ran by pulling out the power cable to the hub which caused the game to crash...stupid animal...

My best memory was probally when me and my friend were playing coop to mess around. I was doing the old grenade/warthog trick with an overshield to keep me alive in Silent Cartographer. I was trying to do tricks in the gunner seat to bump the top of the map and one time I managed to get in the side seat...The camera went PsYcHo!! I kept doing it.

Single player- I think the only really great moments in single player would be when I beat the maw on legendary with my friend, and the fact that whenever we play two betrayls on legendary we get halfway through, get frustrated, and kill each other(which sorta goes with the title) Granted neither of these are single player but...

Multiplayer- Two things- the first is it was just a 1 on 1 match in Blood Gulch. My friend was in a tank, and I was in the middle of the field. He had just fired his main weapon and having missed tried to ram me. For some reason, I had my sniper rifle out. Just a short distance from me, I try to zoom in before he crushes me, but he starts firing. So I can't do that, and he is getting ever closer, so I just take a shot, and guess what happens. I somehow managed a headshot, killing him out right.
Second- Also in blood gulch, one on one, my friend was in the warthog, which he so happily refers to as a piggy, and I was in the passenger seat of another one. We were at one of the buildings, right in front. He starts to ram me, and on one he gets his 'piggy' onto the side of mine, for just a second. I had my plasma grenade on and I throw it. It lands on his tire, which is now spinning backwards, it blows up. I'm hurt yes, but he is thrown all the way back to the wall, and very high up it. As we all know its a fair distance. The funny thing is, he didn't die from that. For some reason at that moment he decided to get out of the warthog, and he falls to his death. We had quite a good laugh at that one.

What about your worst halo memories?

Mine is on battle creek, 5 vs 5, slayer, one guy decided to start camping, and his first 5 grenades stuck to all of us. One grenade per person on my team. It was the worst death our team ever suffered. HORRIBLE!!!

For SP, I was on easy, I was walking up to the top of Halo, and this grunt stuck a plasma grenade to my back, and I blew up. IT WAS ON EASY!!!! VERY, VERY, EMBARRISING! I HAD 10 PEOPLE WATCHING ME CLIMB!

Well, let me start out with the release of the XBOX. I had a PS2 virus and put the XBOX away as a "stupid box", I was only 9. When I was 10 I went over to a friends house and saw a misterious game, I saw the back of it. He the told me he had an XBOX. When we popped in the disc I had to go. I later called him to ask about the game. He told me it was called Halo. I thouhgt nothing of it.

Then in december of 2003 I got a free 50$. I saw Halo. I had heard rumors that it was a really good game. I went for it- then my mind said "you dont have an Xbox." I went to the counter of a gamestop store and asked if it was out on the PS2. The accountant laughed and said that you couldnt fit a cow in a small bowl. He did say that it was out on the PC. So I asked for that. After going home I asked to install it. The comp was having problems so I waited for a month.

In January I installed it. YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure my comp could hardly handle it but it was a blast. Soon after I tried it on the Xbox, it was as fun as the comp version. I went into labor for money and got the special green clear Xbox with Halo. I have been playing so much from that date.

3 years ago, sitting in my uncles apt. prolly eleven at night. he says to me " sit down right there, pointing to the couch, which faced a 50 something inch plasma tv. He says, hold on to something, i was like ok. He hit the lights, and they went off, and the xbox came on with this game title i had never heard of once before. HALO. My first expierience was being handed the controller, i had a fresh papa johns pizza next to me and nothing but time ahead of me. Once i started playing and still pretty much every time i sit down to play sp, or mp with friends the adrenaline starts flowing and i get goosebumps. I sat in awe of the game for the next two days. Still to this day i remember that moment, it did change my life and my relationship with my uncle, we spent two years playing that game every weekend. Sadly he passed away at thirty and im still in awe of the gameand thats the first time i ever played halo. And i will never forget it.

Geeze... That's sad... Sounds like my old grand pah. He was a little like that except that he didn't play video games and he was like 73...
