No! It lacked autoaim and melee lunge and those things alone made it better than Halo 2 or 3.

Absolutely false, there have been experiments done on MLGPro.com and they clearly show that H:CE had the most amount of auto assist out of all 3 games. And no, the huge skill gap in Halo:CE is what made it a good game. Thats why Halo 2 and Halo 3 have gotten progressively "worse."

You couldn't be more wrong.
Auto aim and bullet magnetism are two completely different things.

Good point but they need to make a completely new game, not halo. The more games they make the less popular it will become

they should do like family guy and end it well its good

family guy never ended... tard.

Have you ever talked to someone who played Halo 3 first? And was very good at H3 and thus would have been good at Halo CE.

When they play the whole series they almost undoubtably say that Halo 3 is far superior to Halo CE. It is no contest. It is where they started that made the difference, not because of slight gameplay differences.

I'm "good" at Halo 3. I played CE first. I'm mediocre at best at CE, and I still go back and play it. In fact, I've gotten worse at the game from playing 2 and 3. Its worlds different than the first two.

Nostalgia does make the past seem better.

On the other hand, I have 3 (4 if you count prepatch Halo 2, which I do because its completely different than the postpatch version) different experiences off which to base your opinion on if you have played all three games. I still stand by CE was the best, although I acknowledge that my views may be construed by nostalgia.

You should check the number of games sold. Halo has become more popular with every release.

Technically they will always be moving backwards. Halo and Halo 2 are both very different games; I would say that any Halo game besides it will draw things from both of these games. Halo 3 leans much more toward Halo 2 than Halo 1. I hope that Halo REACH leans much more toward Halo 1 than Halo 2 (in terms of gameplay, not features like forge, firefight, etc.) because it was more fast paced, consistent, and skill-rewarding.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

I actually started on CE, but I like #2 the most, only reason I don't play it is because barely anyone is in match making.

And the Brute Shot sucks...

Vancouver BC, Canada.

Almost every battle in the Halo: CE Campaign is a memorable one. The environments, the huge ammunition stashes, the architecture, etc. is pure genius in that game.

This is why that game always made me want to come back for more.

Ehh... the environments kind of repeated themselves in my opinion.
I thought Halo 2 was the best (2nd one I played).

Halo CE FTW! You make a good point, but i've met players who started on Halo 2, and still like Halo CE better. It's that good.

I played h1 when it first came out and it blew my mind to me was the best game ever. Honestly though i prefer h2. To me it felt insanely faster and alot more fun. If halo2 didnt have those extra brownie points halo1 would be the best in the series to me, h1 and h2 would be neck n neck 99. But halo 3 on the other hand would be a 1 with a piss bucket. If reach comes out like halo 1 it would be the best thing bungie did
Maybe with a tiny hint of h2 kick

Ps 50s in MLG mean nothing
Now a 40 in halo 2 team hardcore. You were one bad son -blam!-
50 in halo 2 meant you cheated lol

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

For the record I played Halo 2 first, and I like both Halo CE and Halo 3 more in their own respective ways. Halo 2 just had by far the best Maps.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

People who started on Halo CE think it's the best.

People who started on Halo 2 think it's the best.

People who started on Halo 3 think it's the best.

Why? Not because one of the games is "better" than another, but the absolute euphoria you get from playing Halo for the first time. They are really are great games. However, every subsiquent Halo game that comes out just can't restore that same feeling that they got with that first Halo game that they played.

I have news for you...that feeling is never gonna come back, even if they made a Halo game that is exactly like the one that you enjoyed best and fixed all the flaws that you thought there were.

But there is great news, there is a way for you to get a that feeling again! Bungie needs to make a totally new, revamped Halo game. That is the only thing that give you that first time, this is amazing, euphoria fix that all of these Halo CE lovers are seeking.

Instead of trying to move backwards and try and recreate an experience that you will never have again, Bungie needs ot create the NEXT great gaming experience.

Um, I started with Halo 2, but I loved Halo 1 more. Halo 3 was second only to Halo 1 for me.

Halo: CE was simply the best of the series, and many would agree.

Or HAVE played it, and base how good a game is entirely on how new it is, and how good the graphics are.

Each one had their strengths. Heres pretty much how it goes.

Halo 3: Best overall Graphics, and Competetive Multiplayer. Poorest Campaign.

Halo 2: Best and Most in-depth Plot, and Entertainment Multiplayer. Poorest Stability (Glitches).

Halo CE: Best Campaign, and Pistol (:P). Poorest Graphics (Though that is to be expected).

Halo 3: I personally loved the campaign, but it was a little short. Great multiplayer. Great graphics for the time

Halo 2: Stale campaign, really. Could have been better. Awesome maps and multiplayer, but a lot of glitches. Great graphics for the time

Halo 1: My favorite and the most challenging campaign. Multiplayer was amazing. Great graphics for the time.

My opinion from best to worst (not to say any where "bad"): Halo 1, Halo 3, Halo 2.

I actually found conquering Halo 2 on Legendary quite a bit harder than any of the other 2 games. Halo 3 was RIDICULOUSLY easy. Halo 1 was a challenge, yes, but there were no DRONES. Remember the DRONES, what about the Flood that drove SCORPIONS. *shivers*

I dont even WANT to bring up the Ultras, or the fight against Regret...

Also, Im not sure I want to be the one to point this out, but Gears of War came out a full year and a half before Halo 3, and the graphics were better. The same could be said for games like Assassins Creed, and Bioshock, which came out around the same time as well. Halo's didn't really meet the expectations of ITS time. (Crisis... need I say more?)

I'd have to disagree. Assassin's creed was pretty good, I will say that. Bioshock, not so much. Graphics were about the same as Halo 3. As for Gears 2, don't get me started. I hate the Unreal 3 engine. It uses not character modeling and all texture, which often take a while to load. It is not a great engine.

They both use the same game engine. I overall do not like the Unreal 3 engine. It's all texturing and no modeling which ends up looking, well, really fake, to me.

I don't like Halo 3 because campaign sucks. I also thought the story was bad and the multiplayer was nothing like Halo 2's was for me. It just felt like a down grade to me.

Also Halo 2 is a much more competitive game than Halo 3.

Uhh, Halo 2 had horrible balance issues and glitches that made it near impossible to actually play competitively. That is why MLG dropped it as soon as Halo 3 came out.

If I didn't know better I would say you like a game that was UNFINISHED, and UNTESTED, and left full of GLITCHES AND PROBLEMS.
