I'm probably far behind you guy's but I still think it's worth posting.

Halo Reach happens before/while Halo CE. that means every spartan in the game will have the Mjolnir mark V body armour, witch doesn't have the automatic Healing that the mark IV have.

Not necassarily. It's a game, so things can be changed regardless of the timeline. I hope medkits make a return though, they made things more intense in Halo 1. Stuck on one red bar and faced with a crapload of aliens on Legendary was often frustrating, but it felt good when you'd won.

there is a rule that's firmly established in video games :
good gameplay > storyline.
health packs are so last gen.

and good news for you, chances you fight floods are 0%. but I think you knew it.

Yeah bungie never messes with the timeline thats why there are so many elites in Halo: ODST... oh wait

Rock + Metal = Life
Simple math

The brutes where in the covenant during Halo 3: ODST but i dont think New Mombasa where the covenants primary target so thats why the brutes were sent there (if it is during Halo 2)

See you on the battlefield.

I don't think that the auto heal was an effect of the armor. I would like to see a return of medkits though, a finite health supply is one of the things that made Halo CE more tactical and difficult. I'd also like to see a return of campaign power ups like in Halo CE.

floods were not on Reach. and if they were hidden in some obscure forerunner facility under the ONI base, then there is no flood outbreak.
nowhere in the book they mention floods.

"Floods"?

We don't know if they were in Reach or not (keyword "in" not "on"). If they were hidden in another portion of the massive structure under the Mountain chain, there could have been a Flood outbreak, just not one encountered by the Spartans on the surface in First Strike. If you remember, there are 14 Spartans with untold names, numbers, and fates... maybe some (5) of them encounter the Flood?

I highly doubt that.

ODST doesn't have floods. they are not mandatory in a Halo game, just like MC... why would Bungie focus on an isolated group of spartans underground when they could make an epic campaign with huge battles? sounds silly to me, and not probable.
besides, all forerunner facilities didn't contain floods. you are assuming there are floods in this one, which is not even certain at all.

this chould be a good point but i think bungie was just being lazy on this one atleast a few elites whould have been a good idea since it was at that time frame (whould have made game play better...... think about it elites vs odst basicly the best of both sides besides spartans)

It's OK wiht me if they don't make it in Multiplayer. Or that it would depend on the playlist

ODST doesn't have floods.
And?
(We're not even sure about that yet.)

they are not mandatory in a Halo game, just like MC...Well okay then. Doesn't mean that they can't be in this one.

why would Bungie focus on an isolated group of spartans underground when they could make an epic campaign with huge battles? Why would you assume they would be isolated under the surface the entire time?

But some did. Maybe this is one of them.

But lets say that the flood were locked away somewhere on reach and were released and the spartans had to fight them. How do you explain why the planet wasn't taken over when Chief got there? Surely the covenant would be in much more disaray / panic.

Even fifteen spartans would have problems containing a flood outbreak, unless the entire flood encounter in the game is:
*open door*
*flood infection forms come out*
*kill them all before they infect anything*
*celebration*

No, Bungie has used up the "OMG teh fl00d r taeking ovah teh w0rld!!1!" plot line card two too many times. This game is not going to focus on them so long as it remains entirely on Reach.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

The medkit thing had nothing to do with the armor, it was a gameplay feature that was removed after much feedback from players. Personally I don't mind it so much, but I guess many did.

It's prescence isn't affected by the type of armor a Spartan wears.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

It was explained that Mark V didn't have any protection other than the armor/shielding, no way to heal wounds. BioFoam was in the medkits, which would stop internal bleeding/pain, giving you health back.

Bungie did away with health packs in Halo 2, by saying Mark VI had built in self injecting biofoam. So when you were wounded, the biofoam would seal up your wounds, meaning health packs are pointless.

That is a simple story explanation, Bungie has commented in forum posts about the removal of medkits, and it was a gameplay change at the request of the gamers. What you mentioned is simply an explanation to keep it clean :)

Ok so maybe MC got his Mark 6 a little late, or something like that. Or he broke hs Mark 6 on reach.

Also I would like to point out that in MP games, health packs are a bad idea and lead to bad gameplay. I personally don't like health packs.
