Ever since Halo:CE Bungie gave us a couple Controll Layouts to choose from, the most popular in Halo 3 are the Default one and Bumper Jumper. But wouldn't it be neat if you could assign every button by yourself to change the buttonlayout the way you need it to be comfortable?
Bunge said that people would shoot with B if this was possible and get an advantage over everyone else (shoot faster.
But what if you could only assign A, B, X, Y, RB, LB, LT, Click Left Stick, Click Right Stick and the D-Pad and maybe decide whether you want to shoot with RT or LT. That way you could assign it the way you need it without having an advantage about everyone else.
Many games already have something like that, and I think it would be awesome if Halo: Reach would have something simular.
Opinions?

Why would it ever not be necessary?? You should be able to play with the buttons doing what you want them to do, not choosing from what only is given by the developer.

IMO have all the same layouts as now but also add a customs layout option. Nice thread, I like the idea.

Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

Whatever, I guess everybody wants something.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I see nothing negative about this idea? I say indeed.

What I would like to see is multiple control set ups for each player, with one for each player mode. Like one for normal and one for while you are driving a vehicle or in a turret. So you could keep have different sensitivities for different jobs.

Interesting idea. It would efinitly be worth a try, even though it would be if your sensitivity would change for let's say sniping, even though I know a lot of people that are able to snipe better with a lower sensitivy and do everything else with a higher one.
