Bungie's original plan was to have Reach be their final Halo game; they weren't planning any sequels, prequels or spinoffs. in essence, Reach is the big finale. (maybe, maybe not.) They have said that they were working on Halo Reach since they released Halo 3. ODST used Halo 3 as a base and seems like something to keep us fans happy while we wait (as well as a source of monies to keep our favorite game makers from going broke). Halo Reach is the big one, it is going to have a new engine, new graphics, new everything.
Bungie has definitely been watching and listening to its fans; they know what we like, and what we don't like, what has worked in the past and what hasn't. with all the experience, talent, knowledge and skill bungie has accumulated, there is no way the game will let us down. The only question is: are we going to be able to wait for Reach without going crazy with anticipation?
it is NOT going to be a Rick n Roll, it is going to be AWESOME.
