Well i think i have a nice idea.
In halo 3 if you drive against a brute and hit him and if he is not dead he just easily stands up again.
How about in reach when your enemies/allies fall on the ground or are in pain they will really show pain.
I think it would be better in halo reach brutes/elites will first get their hands on the ground and slowly (but not too slow) get on their feet again and really bleed or you will see wounds or something.

Halo isn't big on blood and guts, its what makes it more family friendly than your average shoot-em-up. also, there probably won't be brutes in Reach, they didn't rise to power until Halo 2 and Reach takes place before Halo CE.
The idea of injured animation has merit, but the gameplay would be kinda akward and annoying; If I got hit by a ghost or a warthog and it didn't quite kill me, I would hate having my character lie there as easy pickings for the enemy. it's hard enough to escape some crazy dude behind the wheel of a ghost as it is, I don't need to be forced to crawl away after surviving the first charge.
