Subject: Health packs? Maybe

Health packs were used in Halo C.E, but not in Halo 2 or 3 and I know why. Mark VI which was used in Halo 2 and 3 used an automatic biofoam injector which was inside the suit, however Mark V did not have this so this is what they used the health packs (for the biofoam most likely to heal themselves from the plasma or bullets that penatrated the armor once the shields were down). Since the Spartans on Reach used Mark V they didn't have the automatic biofoam injector that Mark VI had. It's a theory.....

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

I personally hope that health packs don't make a return, they seemed to slow down CE a bit, and I'm slightly concerned about ODST since health packs are returning to it.

Cheif has never needed them before. Why would his fellow spartans need the now?

Halo 1....

Signatures are for squares.

It makes gameplay much more skill oriented. Much better having to fight to control a health pack spawn area.

I think that you should have your shields, then your armor status.

Your shields just do their shieldy thing, but the armor status acts like your visible health. It is kind of like a secondary shield, but it is just like your normal health when you have no shields.

However, it can regenerate. However, it takes a lot longer then your shields, maybe around 10 seconds before the 2 second long regeneration process begins?

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Yes.

what you just described is exactly what happens in halo 3 now. both your sheilds and your health recover like shields, but takes longer to recharge, is weaker, and invisible

I think that's a pretty good compromise between health packs and full regeneration acutally.

He was talking about the armour stats recovering very slowly, separately from the energy shields.

The current shields and health are completely integrated as far as I know.

This is simple, they bring it back exactly like it is in Halo 3, there is health. Instead of invisible health, there will be a health bar that simply isn't all that important, you can get health packs but they don't do much. This way it will play just like Halo 3 but will also handle cannoticle issues.

Am I right?

That still brings up the issue of having to scramble for health packs though doesn't it? Or does the health meter recharge on its own, I'm assuming it doesn't since you mentioned health packs.

I know, but it should be visible, and maybe even affect the appearance of your armor.

Healthpacks in campaign, not in MP. That's what I hope if the include it.

I can;t believe how many people are against health like in H1. I found it better and more fun. Always having to check your health - knowing if you have 3 bars to avoid nades at all costs, having 2 means ull die from 1 snipe shot - i mean I thought it added more strategy - and fun - to the game. I love H1 Health :D

They aren't.

"Everything works itself out. The only thing that matters is whether you want it to or not."

Last Refuge - Operation Phoenix is in effect. From the ashes, we will rise.

Recharging shields are like med packs that you don't even need to pick up. So no, I'm sure the "health" system, or shield system, whatever you want to call it, is fine as is.

I think that it would probably recharge slowly, but the point is that health packs are somewhat pointless, except to handle cannoticle issues. Health packs would be there but you wouldn't be scrambling for them because they really don't do much, I'm shure you run into a fight with your health low all the time in Halo 3, everyone does, it just seams dumb to wait for 1-2 minutes for your health to recharge. And it would be the same with health packs.

Have you played Halo CE?

That's the system he's referring too.

Which IMO made the MP more tactical. That and fall damage and the plasma freeze.

What spectagon are you in?

No shields are better.
