Changes akin from Halo 2 to Halo 3? Excuse my cautious approach to Halo: Reach, but I found Halo 3 a bit underwhelming for a game of its status (Millions of dollars poured into it's development, no time restraints, and the conclusion title to what's arguably gaming's most well-known franchise), and as someone mentioned earlier, found the whole experience (being completely honest) hardly a score above average. Not to stray too far off topic here, but this helps my argument- Halo 1 utterly blew my mind, and was a videogame masterpiece for its time. Halo 2 did the same, albeit this time my mind was left blown by the life-suckingly addicting multiplayer that held my attention for 2+ years (I say '+' because I was well enjoying it around the release of Halo 3) . Halo 3 on the other hand, held my attention for a month at best, and the last week or two of even that month was me playing in desperation to attain that addictive and can't put the controller down feel of Halo 2. (I came close with a couple of exciting, out of the ordinary matches, but never overall felt even half the passion I had for Halo 2's multiplayer.) I could bring up numerous other minor and major flaws in Halo 3 (unfortunately), but I think you get my point. What I'm trying to say is both that "Changes akin to Halo 2 to Halo 3" doesn't particularly excite me, and that I've also lost my quality expectations for Bungie as a developer as a whole (also, unfortunately.) I refuse to hold my expectations high for either ODST or Reach due to the admitted dissapointment that was Halo 3, and I refuse to get caught up in the hype-talk. I do, however, truly hope that Bungie will provide the quality of work for all their future titles that I believe Halo 1 and 2 held, and therefore earn back my honoring of them as my favorite developer.
I understand what you are talking about. Halo 3's story was great, IMO, but not necessarily what it was hyped up to be. I disagree on the multiplayer part of your rant though. I can see where you are coming from about everything else, but I don't agree.
