Reach essentially has put the "I" in "Team".

Remember, the enemy's gate is down

In Halo3, we already had the ability to customize weapon damage overall. Organizations like MLG took advantage of this, implementing 110% damage to their gametypes. But this caused some weapons(such as the shotgun) to become overpowered for competitive play and were thus removed.

I am proposing the ability to change weapon damage on a weapon by weapon basis. This would open up a whole new world of opportunities for gametypes. Variety would be increased for a game series that is already rife with variety. Bungie itself has stated the best thing about Halo is that it can be played so many ways. This could also settle the riff that has seemed to occur between the competitive and casual crowds. It would also make it easier on the people who maintain MM. Changes occur frequently in Halo3 MM, with weapons being removed due to being slightly overpowered or underused. This would make fixes like that much more simple. Just a preposition. /discuss

First i've heard of an idea like this.

I like it.
I want reach to have "ultimate" customization, and this idea just adds to it.

Agreed. I never knew why the shotgun wasn't in MLG in the first place until a couple months ago lol. You could truly make power weapons more powerful with this idea, and a reason to fight for them harder.

It seems great to have a lot of customization, but there is a point when there is too much. Halo 3 was supposed have great costimization but the process of making gametypes was terrible. Some options that were added were unnecessary (2000X health, moving really fast slow, gravity) and some options that were more important didn't exist.

For costimization is should be like this. Keep the very simple controls for all gametypes. Then have a separate Advance Options tab.

Ultimate Customization

If Bungie uses some of the said created maps, it would end a lot of the complaints.

Halo CE, best game ever. I stand by it to the end. <3 The Old Bungie

Its a new idea for sure. But doesnt it that just an insult to the designers? whats the point of making a weapon and perfecting it if we can just change it how we want? I like how its original but im not a fan

Bungie's designers are pretty open minded. Creating a game with weapons that work perfectly for the vast array of audiences that Bungie is trying to appeal to is impossible. They can't make the BR work for the casual crowd while at the same time making it be perfect for the competitive crowd. And companies like MLG, which have gone and made their own maps and diverged from default Halo, have gotten the full support of Bungie. So while I see your point that some companies would see it as an insult, Bungie seems to be the company that would be proud that they created a game that could be so versatile.

I, also, see your point, but in my opinion, that is such a core part of the game that tampering with it would be unwise. It would definetly be a make or break decision.

Couldn't the same be said about forge? Whats the point in making a map and perfecting it if we can just change it how we want?

Well the answer to that was in a H3 Vidoc. Bungie recognized that people won't like how they do it, so they give people their own tools to change it to how they want it.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Why? You can change the layout of maps on forge. The default settings of Halo will still be similar to all of its predecessors, its not like they have to use the settings in MM if they don't want to. Bungie themselves have said that one thing that makes their game so appealing is all of the customizable options that allow people to play Halo however they want. Why stop now? If they can appeal to a larger crowd who likes the general idea of Halo but hasn't had a chance to play it the way that they want to, why shouldn't they reach out to them (see what I did there?), and its not like it would hurt anyone. You don't have to play any gametypes that you don't want to.

Avatar was awesome! If there is to be a Halo movie, make sure James Cameron gets the job!

Yes, then no. I like the idea of a less powerful rocket launcher, but not a Halo: CE pistol in one game!

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Yes, this would be great, I too have wanted this change. If I could customize specific weapons, the game would be more enjoyable for me.

Casual gamers could play at their casual level, MLG could figure out the perfect balance to maximize the variety of weapons in their gametypes, maybe finally including the Plasma Rifle they wanted to add in at one point!

My worst problem at this point though, is boosting damage, and making Melee even MORE op. I hate that, one big change I want to make is increased weapon damage, decreased Melee.

Lets face it, that one custom option, would change Halo for the better, forever.
