sooo... this thread goes to all hayabusa people that think halo is a cool space ninja guy that doesnt afraid of anything and that his katana is so l33tbbq.
and.... I'm just telling you WHY it won't be in Reach. AT ALL

tldr : hayabusa won't be in Reach because no game will feature a spartan.

however surprising it might be for you if you're a brainless bungle fanboy, hayabusa was NOT created by Bungie.
Ryu Hayabusa is a ninja created by Team Ninja in the Game Dead or Alive (and Ninja Gaiden).
so why was there a hayabusa armor in halo 3?

Team Ninja added a spartan in their last DoA game (her name is Nicole, I think) as a guest character, and in exchange, Bungie added DoA related stuff to halo (Hayabusa and his katana) to promote Ninja gaiden 2 that came out after H3 (and H3, since DoA came out before).

TN is now dissolved, and the remains now work on the next Metroid game... sooo, hayabusa, ninja gaiden and DoA won't have ANY other sequels. and they can't make cross overs.
Bungie can't add hayabusa "because theyve done it in halo 3 already!!1111" because of copyrights. they were given the permission ONCE. if they use it again it'd be stealing as hayabusa is under copyright protection, and they'd be forced to remove it and pay a fine.

Definatly no hayabusa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant stand it thank you some one with some sence!!!!!!!

Avatar was awesome! If there is to be a Halo movie, make sure James Cameron gets the job!

Haysbusa has it's appeal to those without Katana's I think. Once you get the Katana, it looses it's appeal. Anyone with a Hayabusa and Katana on one Spartan is just a noob me thinks! But yes, you are correct, Hayabusa is out of Reach of those who want it. (see what I did there?)

besides, I highly dislike hayabusa helmets... they don't feel right.
it's a SCIENCE FICTION game, I don't want to see space ninjas and katanas... :/ it's fun as easter egg or cameo but since everybody wears it, it's gotten pretty lame.

it's like an old super overused meme (more like, "epic fail/win" ... >.> )

  • 09.13.2009 11:57 AM PDT

Yes i think hayabusa would be better suited if the called the games

Halo Gaiden 4

Spartans as ninjas? Just dousnt feel right

what would be sweet, would be if since team ninja is making the new Metroid game, they would allow Samus's helmet to be unlockable in Halo Reach, assuming that copyright bullcrap could be sorted out...

cross platform wouldn't happen... samus (along with Link and Mario and Fox) is one of Nintento's mascots.
it'd be like featuring Snake in Halo or Marcus in MGS... could happen, but it's way weird.

"YOUR DESTRUCTION IS THE WILL OF THE GODS, AND WE ARE THEIR INSTRUMENT."

MGS is coming to Xbox. So..
Also, Hayabusa is one of the more popular armors, along with the Katana. Don't be surprised if it's kept in.

If you can prove this with a quote from Bungie, that would be great. Otherwise, who says they won't add it? It is extremely popular and if they even have to, collaborate with the guys that made ninja guiden or whatever, not that complicated. Bungie builds their games based on what the fans want, their statistics probably show that Hayabusa is popular.

because it's NOT theirs, that's why.
hayabusa is under COPYRIGHTS and has been registered by Team Ninja, NOT by Bungie.
Team Ninja has been disolved and what's left of the studio is working in a METROID game. if Bungie used hayabusa again, they'd get sued and loose money and be forced to remove it, because that is STEALING, and anything that's copyrighted is protected against it.

and bungie doesn't build a game based on fanservice.
bloodgulch, brutes in mp, fix the br, fix melee, flyable pelican, halo CE pistol, etc.

You have no rights, play nice.

They also wouldn't be put in Reach because they were developed after the big battle at reach. So, the marines would be like, "OmG, a HaXzOr!!!!!!"

Says who? It's not called "Ryu Hayabusa" armor, nor is it called Hayabusa© armor. The armor, while similar, does not look exactly like Ryu Hayabusa. Suzuki isn't being sued for using the name "Hayabusa" as the title for their sport bikes; it's a word that means "Falcon", and as long as the armor doesn't have "Ryu" in front of it, that's all it is.

Compare This to this. Similar, but realistically no where near exact. Wheras Spartan-458 in DOA4 is directly slated as a non-canon Spartan from the Halo universe, and copyrights are given where due toward Bungie and the Halo franchise.

Unless you have real stalwart proof that they couldn't possibly add it (A statement from Bungie, or copyrights given to Team Ninja on Halo 3), your topic is as much speculation as all the time travel theories, or expectancy of class based gameplay in this forum.

Subject: Funny thing about Reach : Hayabusa

The last time I tried to make a quote, a car smashed through my wall and the tire hit my grandmother in the other room. But for those of you who can haz once more between five, I say it will be five between seven divided by zero multiplied by Chick Norass and Broce Tee.

"Doesn't afraid of anything."
Read that back to yourself and see if it makes sense.

the katana is an exact replica (and I mean "EXACT") of the katana he uses though.
and there IS mention of Team Ninja in the credits :p

anybody who've played DoA or NG or that's not a total halo fanboy knows that this armor directly comes from the ninja (hence it's extreme resemblance). look at the top part of the helmet (the silver part), it's obvious it is the same piece of armor Ryu uses, except that it's been slightly redesigned and stylized... I doubt it's news to you though.

the point of having that armor in the game was a kind of trade with TN, a mutual inside joke that is not even canonically correct (H3 is the ONLY place you can ever read the name Hayabusa referring to an armor, which is not a lot considering all the media surrounding Halo).

There's certainly a special thanks to Team Ninja in the credits, but that's all it is. It could mean anything. It could mean "Thank you Team Ninja for creating Ryu Hayabusa so we could base an armor off of him", it could mean "Thank you TN for putting a Spartan into DOA and helping to further our franchise." It's non-specific.

It's blatantly obvious where the armor came from, I'll admit, but the fact that I've never seen a physical statement or reference to a Ninja Gaiden IP copyright or actual " 'Hayabusa' is copyright of Team Ninja, all rights reserved, etc, etc.", and the fact that even toys have been made of the Hayabusa armor perm courtesy of McFarlane toys either means that they would have had to ask TN directly for permission to create it. That, or Bungie just owns the Hayabusa armor perm in the first place, and never needs to ask permission to use it again.

It comes from 4chan actually.

Anyway they simply named the armor after Ryu Hayabusa, as a tribute to Ninja Gaiden. Which is Xbox exclusive for now (the current series actually began with a remake of a SNES game also called Ninja Gaiden, I believe). Hayabusa is simply a word, a word that actually makes sense to name a suit of armor. As much sense as Mjolnir anyway.
