Subject: Knifing grunts

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

Sergeant Forge had badassery and the ability to instill the urge for a long and pointless monologue in his enemies.

Reference Sgt. Forge armed with a combat knife versus Arbiter armed with dual energy swords who wins?

And while we do have bayonets on brute weapons, a knife is completely worthless. Hmmm, do I quickly pull off 3 headshots on 3 grunts and keep moving, or pull out a knife, sneak up, and slit their throats? I really don't see how the knife could be made fun without seriously changing the Halo gameplay.
So no. Deal with it.

For the fuc killionth time HALO IS NOT CALL OF DUTY!!!

So just cuz Call of Duty has air strikes, Halo isn't allowed to? Your logic makes no sense, n00b-cake.
Halo would not work with airstrike.

Halo would not work with airstrike.

Why? It's a war game like Call of Duty and CoD air strikes work.

Lol, you actually think that it would work just because it's a war game? It's a little bit more complicated than that, skippy. Airstrike would screw up the halo gameplay forumla.

If by "Airstrikes," you mean "Covenant Cleansing Beam From Space," maybe, if only to add a gameplay twist.
Bungie hasn't been known to simply copy and paste ideas unless they can't find a good reason not to, and while Call of Duty 4 was a good game, that doesn't mean everyone else has to copy it.

Yea, but for this one gameplay twist to work, you'd have to change a lot of other stuff as well. You can't really just throw this in there and expect it to work.

Some of the posts sound so ridiculous.
-Why are some people rejecting the idea that using a knife IS a posibilty, you didn't make the game, nor did you influence it in ANY way. So stop talking like you know everything. Plus, Call of Duty is not the only game to implement knifing as melee.
-Even though it might be a reconnaissance (since when? I didn't hear about it), it doesn't mean that assassinations will be obsolete. You've been playing Halo 3 for awhile, whacking someone (even with full shield) in the back kills them.
-If you've seen the short parts of the Halo anime, you will see knifing and assassinating.
