You know those days where you wake up and you just don't want to get out of bed? those days when you drag your feet across the floor like a zombie? yeah, I'm having one of those days.

reach was not a happy event...it was a time when the marines could make jokes every 5 mins like in halo 3...because this is the last halo game from bungie i want it to be SERIOUS! i dont want stupid jokes from marines or odsts....grunts are ok because its not the covenant who are getting destroyed...

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

Without humor, the game would lose its appeal.

Correction: Its campaign would lose its appeal.

"Violence isnt the answer, but it sure is the solution"

Thats what the IWHBYD skull is for. Im sure they will have something like it on there.
That way, if you dont want it, you dont turn it on.

But no humour at all? Are you some sort of hermit?

Without Humor, the game wouldn't be Halo. The game would be Space Marines in Space.

Rock + Metal = Life
Simple math

Without humor the game wouldn't be...eh....it is just better with humor. By the way is the humor one of the things (in some cases the only thing) that some people that don't like halo likes e.g. Grunt birthday party.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

yeah, this game needs humor. sure they can make it more serious, but it has to have humor

  • 09.14.2009 11:10 AM PDT

I'm not so sure.

Halo 2 and Halo 3 took themselves waaaay too seriously, and the dialogue was painful. I cringed in terrified anticipation whenever a cutscene popped up, waiting for the "super serious" conversation to make me tear my ear drums out.

The Bring Back Bloodgulch Group have many members looking for more its kind of an unofficial petition to Bungie to bring back Bloodgulch in Reach http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/bx3g/Group/GroupHome.aspx

Space marines in Space huh?

lol its kind of interesting aren't our marines we have now days technically space marines? I mean our earth is in space.... man its the big questions like this that keep me up tonight

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

The games aren't even very funny, there is just this sense of immature nonsense. I hope we see a serious Halo game.

Far out, bro.

I mean, what is reality and how do we know it's real and like what's up with the platypus?

If you had to play through the campaign with everyone hanging their heads and not saying anything that would not be any fun. There has to be humor.

read the books, the marines and odsts are cocky as ever.

  • 09.14.2009 12:46 PM PDT

Reach needs to 100% serious, its a time when The U.N.S.C realizes that they are fighting a losing war against a enemy with far supieor weapons than ours. Not to mention the Entire planet was Glassed, losing millions of Lives.

  • 09.14.2009 12:56 PM PDT

There should be as much humor as any other Halo game, but I do agree with a few people, it wasn't the best event to make jokes at.

I am the hand of fate!

Yeah, cut out all the humor. Mhmm, make the characters gritty, tough, and strong. Oh, and have the second main character shout "WHERE'S MY WIFE" the entire game. LOLOLOLOL. JK, jk. Still. Halo has subtle, but still hilarious, humor. Keep it in.

  • 09.14.2009 1:05 PM PDT

The soliders/ spartans in front of reach for the poster, is if I had to quess Fred, and Kelly, and the other spartans that Chief, sent down to protect high ranking navy officers, an Adimiral for one. When they went down they knew they werent coming back, and John knew it too. Its a desperate Last stand. But the game, might actually cut into the earlier years, We might see the spartans, as kids training with Mendez, or we Might actually see Dr. Hailsey, or a younger Cpt. Keyes, who was a LT. at the time. Yeah there will be sutle jokes here and there, but Reach falling is the Darkest Day for the U.N.S.C, and the game should be gritty, and dark throughtout.

It is easy to be male
it is another thing to be a man.

" to war"?

  • 09.14.2009 1:20 PM PDT

A captain's goal is simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.

I believe that some humor is necessary to make the game more enjoyable. On a realism sense, it is not uncommon for there to be jokes from soldiers during a such desperate times in order to relieve stress.

  • 09.14.2009 1:27 PM PDT

They should have a grunt scene, where a pelican scares the blam! out of a grunt.
There was one on Halo CE and one on H3.

Actually, they knew they where fighting a losing war long before reach.

  • 09.14.2009 2:16 PM PDT

True, it wasnt until Reach that they realized that the Covenant are so close to Earth now, and there was nothing they could do from the Covenant Destroying Reach.

  • 09.14.2009 2:22 PM PDT

Beware the smiley face! =D

I think the game should have SOME humour, not none. But not much - and for Halo 3 levelled humour you would need IWHBYD on.
