if you're invading a planet, why would use you boats and not grav lifts or dropships?

air > water.

  • 09.14.2009 9:26 AM PDT

Go wort wort wort youself.

Good idea, I guess the UNSC could have some kind of boat and the covenant could just have their ordinary hover vehicles that are able to travel over water at normal hovering height.

useless veichles...why with such that technology (spaceships) they would need boats? I would want to actually drive a Pelican/Phantom and other air veichles.

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

Don't you think water vehicles would become obsolete by the 25th century?

Oh I see this has been mentioned earlier sorry. For the sake of gameplay? Why not! Could make for some interesting gametypes or custom matches.

This is like saying, "Don't you think land vehicles would become obsolete by the 25th century?"

Its a game, its ment to be fun. We will probably all have flying vehicles by the 25th century but the game still has warthogs doesn't it?

  • 09.14.2009 9:44 AM PDT

1. Why would you need water vehicles if youhave air?
2.Just use Covenant Vehicles.

  • 09.14.2009 9:48 AM PDT

Don't hate... ...loathe.

Uh... what about under water. In Halo: CE you could run around under water and in pools of coolant. What if some of Reaches secrets are in an ocean. Also at the bottom of a sea is a good place to attempt to hide from the covanat while tring to glass a planet.

Yea, what does a 26th century aircraft carrier look like, or a battleship, that would be really cool to see a Navy in the ocean.

  • 09.14.2009 10:05 AM PDT

Assuming your human Your being invaded Dropships/grav lifts not so useful but if ur suggesting that in Reach your playing as the covenant oooohhh that's opening a whole new can of worms with a so many cool new possibilities.

Maybe I'll finely be able to lead a squad of grunts or play as a hunter.

If i die i forgive you, if i live...we will see.

i think it would be stupid! the only reason they would even think of putting boats in reach is if the covenant, for some strangely stupid reason, had a naval fleet on reach. otherwise what would be the point!?!? it would be a complete waste of time if you ask me

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Or HOVERTANKS
Wraith and the like. The only Covenant thing that can't go into water would be the chopper.

He has a valid point. A dropship can go over water and land therefore making it superior.
And besides if they put a boat in or something kinda would make multiplayer really weird.
think about it.

banshee or a boat? banshee without doubt

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 09.14.2009 12:09 PM PDT

With an aircraft carrier or battle task force, you could move a lot of planes and supplies without risking land travel, besides, covenant vesicles can't drive on water, adding a possible advantage. If an airfield gets glassed, you are screwed, but if you have a mobile one, than you can have an advantage, it is not as easy to hit, and your planes can fire nukes at it, burn it and come back, not having to deal with ground troops

  • 09.15.2009 3:19 PM PDT

YA and maybe a pelican we can actually fly. that be cool for all live to

  • 09.15.2009 3:23 PM PDT

I like the Aircraft Carrier Idea, like having the ability to land carriers in the ocean, would be pretty cool.
We need some boats. With them, they could really expand the size of battlefields in Multiplayer, and in campain.

  • 09.15.2009 3:24 PM PDT

Watch out i'm coming for you!

They could be boats there from pre-war recreational uses.

There will never be flying vehicles for the average person. Do you know what happens on the roads these days? Well think of that 20x more worse.

  • 09.15.2009 4:06 PM PDT

Yes, really

nah. not many maps have water. and the ones that do, dont have enough to support that.

ask yourself, out of all the games that have water vehicles (i.E. BF: bad company) how often are they used other than getting from point A to point B?

  • 09.15.2009 4:08 PM PDT

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Well in the Fall of reach I dont recall there being any water masses, though I guess it's a possibility. I myself dont especially want a water vehicle though.

What about defense on the water? Last time I checked those magical space ships got raped by the covenant. SO what other defense would we have? The fleet was destroyed. So they could have some defense on the water to protect some cities and what not.
