grizzly = stronger scorpion. scorpion = invincible death machine.
hawk = hornet with gauss guns. hornet is totally OP already.
gremlin = giant plasma pistol. disables vehicles, that's all.
cyclops = slower than a spartan, no shields, cant use grenades, weapons, jump, can only run and melee.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Dear god no!

Bungie got screwed with halo wars.
all Halo Wars did was take the concept designs and stories and turned it into an RTS.
Bungie had like no say in the matter and that is wrong to do. of course microsoft is going to give over the halo name to a different Dev. Halo wars was horrible and any true bungie fan would know that.

Adding a bunch of Nonsense Vehicles and characters. Non-Sense to the extreme!
stupid uber OP'd pelican nonsense.

  • 09.14.2009 12:14 PM PDT

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

It was pretty damn canonical... So by any true bungie fan, your just trying to protect your ass...

The vehicles added strategy, something Halo 3 by all means lacks, in MM of course...

Halo wars was horrible

you loosing to the game in mp =/= horrible game.

it was the best console rts ever made, on any console. it wasn't a deep strategic game but it was so easy to handle and play it didn't matter.

also the reviews and metacritic score speaks for itself. so does the sales.
best selling console rts ever, 24th best selling game of the 360, still 5000 players at any time online (which is a damn good thing considering console rts don't have many players - it's the whole pool of players you have on the game).

try to compare this with RA3, C&C3, KW, supreme comander, universe at war, endwar, etc etc. HW is way abose all these.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I say none, not as playable vehicles. There is no practical application for any vehicle from Wars except possibly the Wolverine, but again that would not be a good playable vehicle.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

Yes, but none of the ones you listed. Locust+Vampire+Vulture= =D

You got a point, but then u make a "practical application" to apply the vehicle to.

  • 09.14.2009 4:09 PM PDT

I think the hawk (hornet with two guass cannons) but ONLY in a campaign mission, i'd be waaaay too cheap for MP

I don't mean only with gameplay, but also in the Halo world in general. When you think about it, most of those units only exist because there needed to be something to fit into the RTS balance scheme. That's the way those games are made, so naturally there need to be units made to fit the bill. From a story perspective, there is no reason that any military force would develop something like a Grizzly or a Hawk, there are already cost effective units that fit the role of those vehicles.

That's what I was talking about. I think it would come off as "cartoony" to add any of the super units from Wars into the "Reach" game.

obviously the game will be about the fall of reach an d the story of the books will fall in as well
there for reach is a strong hold militairy colony and thats where all the secret weapons like those are built/stored when not in use. it is the oly game in which human vehicels from halowars could be added. although the locust could fit in the campain since in the book it mentions a large invasion th destroy the reactor facilities to power the MAC guns in orbit

Elites are better than Spartans, deal with it, and Armour Lock is fine.

they wouldn't have to be exactly the same but yes i would like some (even if they were just seen and not driven aka, the longsword)

vultures would be cool to see flying overhead, (also seeing them crash would be awesome)

i think a hawk would be interesting if it worked like a banshee
it would constantly be moving forward, it could do flips (BARREL ROLL!!), and it would have a guass blasts, which works like a banshee bomb. (it could be weak like the banshee too)

the vampire could be a covenant hornet (hovers, more powerful than banshee, no flips, etc)

the locust could be the covenant match for the scorpion (you know that wraiths don't stand a chance against the scorpion in campaign)

the wolverine would be awesome, imagine a level where you need to defend an elephant from banshees, vampires, and phantoms with your lock on missles.

and, i really want a level where you defend an elephant while riding on it.

We need a lot of those vehicles. They were really fun, and would be great in Heavy gametypes. Here's how they could work:

Grizzly: The actual Grizzly in Halo Wars has a weaker special attack than a maxed out Scorpion, but it fires two shots to make up for that. The left turret would be controlled by the left trigger, and the right turret would be controlled by the right trigger. The actual damage from each of those turrets would be between 1/2 to 3/5 of the Scorpion's attack. The Grizzly wouldn't be a super-Scorpion, but an alternative to the Scorpion.

Hawk: Banshee for the UNSC, the Gauss-type attack would fire a bit faster than the Banshee's fuel rod cannon, but because it's UNSC, it's better.

Wolverine: While the Wolverine itself is anti-air (so it could lock on to aircraft and fire missile launcher type attacks, but it would usually miss when aimed at other things), it could function similar to a Wraith. The Volley ability would be similar to the Wraith's attack.

Cobra: A more powerful Gauss hog, that can't move as fast and needs to lock down to achieve full power.

Locust: A more fragile Scorpion with slightly more firepower. Again, an alternative to the Scorpion.

Vampire: The Covenant version of the Hornet, with a left trigger attack that fires a stream of needles, and with a right trigger attack of firing plasma like the banshee.
