Or better yet get a vampire or locust in there.

  • 09.14.2009 6:50 PM PDT

None of those up there, too uber.
If they do, it might be the Cobra, or Wolverine. Maybe even the Locust, or Vampire.
Anyways, they need to bring back the Spectre and the Shadow.

P.S.: The Vulture was the UNSC equivlant to the Scarab on that game. It makes the Grizzly look like a Mongoose.

Dont underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

I voted for Hawk =)

Most halo wars vehicles were ither so far out and stupid that it made me not want to play the game or just a real halo vehicle with a few extra guns slaped on. toltaly new vehcles would be nice.

I don't know how you think that these vehicles are outlandish when you compare them to the other vehicles (I'll give you the Cyclops and the Cobra transformation though).

No. wrong.

A deep Strategic game is something you find on a pc or mac type game.

you say that it tops c&c?
Wrong.

c&c has had an amazing legacy that has inspired future RTS.
Blizzard on one hand has a awesome and simple RTS System. Such as Starcraft and the Warcraft RTS. Any RTS on A 360 or a Ps3 Doesnt work out. Control scheme and other essentials cant fit onto a game console.

Do some actual game work and reseach other RTS games and see how Wrong you are.

1 - writting "wrong" with a capital letter doesn't mean you're cool or I am wrong.

2 - please quote me and show me where I said HW was a better game? I said it does a lot better (read : it is still alive and played) than any other console rts. I also said it is a great CONSOLE rts but that it is not strategically deep and in comparison to pc rts, is not that good.

so, read posts twice before making Nonsense (<- see what I did there?)

I say none, not as playable vehicles. There is no practical application for any vehicle from Wars except possibly the Wolverine, but again that would not be a good playable vehicle.

Yes, if anything i think the wolverine could be made as a working vehicle for the game. The rest of the Halo wars vehicles are great but not practical for classic halo.

The gremlin could work, they just need to change it a bit. Grizzly and hawk should only be in campaign as they are too overpowered. And Cyclops should just be NPC or firefight enemy.

nonsense yes.
Lol Dude I thought you were like hardcore defending that HW was like the best RTs Out there. I read that and was filled with rage.

And the Caps stuff. Just a little Thing to add a bit of A point. But all in all a decent point you bring. I Just get angered when People try to defend HWs or try to make it apart of a new bungie game such as the vehicles. Thas retarded and bungie got screwed on that deal. Microsoft is probablly but hopefully not going to ruin this game by selling out its concept to othewr Devs such as Activison did with call of duty. The Only good Call of Duty gams out there are the Infintity wards Devs.

I say: NO! I didn't like any of the Halo Wars vehicles. At best they felt something out of diluted Halo-ish essence, at worst, they felt like generic (bad) sci-fi vehicles with no imagination. And this does not include the train wreck known as Cyclops, oh god...

The small book that came with the special edition of the game felt more like Halo than the game itself. (Granted, I liked the cutscenes even with their faults, but the game-part itself has no excuses of having that much errors and inconveniences.) There are too many of these horrible units in the game. For example the vampire, it makes my eyes bleed blood. It's just that horrible... Only original Halo Wars vehicle which I could see in Reach, is the Hawk fighter jet. But that's just because a #1 it resembles those early concept's of the Hornet #2 it looks like Orca from C&C.

In the end, I'm pretty sure Bungie is more that capable of creating vehicles of their own. Every time Bungie creates or does something new, it meets a level of resistance from few 'fans' in forums (*cough BR *cough), but Bungie always ends up getting them to work out perfectly. So whatever Bungie decides to do, I know it's for the best. (They haven't let me down thus far.) And remember that this is just my opinion...

  • 09.16.2009 1:03 PM PDT

They should have everything, even if they're only in cutscenes. Reach is a military planet after all, so it should have a little bit of everything.

Fear my Pink Mist...

How bout those covie vehicales= SCARAB!!!!(would be awesome)

We need a lot of those vehicles. They were really fun, and would be great in Heavy gametypes. Here's how they could work:

Grizzly: The actual Grizzly in Halo Wars has a weaker special attack than a maxed out Scorpion, but it fires two shots to make up for that. The left turret would be controlled by the left trigger, and the right turret would be controlled by the right trigger. The actual damage from each of those turrets would be between 1/2 to 3/5 of the Scorpion's attack. The Grizzly wouldn't be a super-Scorpion, but an alternative to the Scorpion.

Hawk: Banshee for the UNSC, the Gauss-type attack would fire a bit faster than the Banshee's fuel rod cannon, but because it's UNSC, it's better.

Wolverine: While the Wolverine itself is anti-air (so it could lock on to aircraft and fire missile launcher type attacks, but it would usually miss when aimed at other things), it could function similar to a Wraith. The Volley ability would be similar to the Wraith's attack.

Cobra: A more powerful Gauss hog, that can't move as fast and needs to lock down to achieve full power.

Locust: A more fragile Scorpion with slightly more firepower. Again, an alternative to the Scorpion.

Vampire: The Covenant version of the Hornet, with a left trigger attack that fires a stream of needles, and with a right trigger attack of firing plasma like the banshee.
Some of your ideas are quite good. cba 2 go into detail.

Yes here is another good idea. Reach is the heart of the UNSC.
