I am getting really upset by the small (yet annoying) amount of people on this forum who just want Reach to be Like Call of Duty.

Halo is not Call of Duty
Halo Is Halo
Halo is fun
Yes Call of Duty is fun (in my opinion) but I enjoy Halo more

So to those people Who want "Iron Sights" shut up it makes no sense in the first place.... why a bio-genetically engineered Spartan with a super Visor-Hud would need Iron sights is completely beyond me

We don't need "perks"

We don't need Kill count rewards.....

God damn sorry for my Rant but does anyone else agree with me?
Please don't tell me everyone wants Halo to be CoD...because if so just play Cod and don't bother with Halo :(

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

HELL TO THE MOTHEREFFIN YEAH!!!!

While I agree that Halo should not be a carbon copy of Call of duty, one can not say that CoD has no good ideas.

For example, lets take the sprint:

Most games have a sprint. Why? Because it speeds up game play. Most maps take a while to traverse, so by adding a sprint, players are no longer totally dependent on vehicles to get from point A to point B. With the sprint, players spend less time walking, and more time shooting at enemies.

I think that a sprint should be considered for Reach because maps like Avalanche and Sandtrap are a pain to play on when you don't have a vehicle. Not to mention that you are out in the open most of the time, leaving you vulnerable to snipers and to vehicles. The sprint would help solve the problem of large maps.

And the weapons do not make Halo. The story makes Halo.

And about the weapons with Iron sights.

Weapons are not made specifically with super soldiers in mind. Normal people like you and me still need to use sights to aim.

Not to mention that technology is not full-proof. The hud could break or be jammed, etc. In cases like those it is good to be able to aim your weapon the 'old fashion' way. Not to mention that technology can never compensate for Human instinct when it comes to aiming a weapon/taking the shot, etc.

I do agree that there are some good ideas that CoD has some good idea. (and yes perks could even be neat if they were Halofied) But I can not agree with the sprint thing I don't know if you have realized but you already run A lot faster in Halo on average then you do in most FPS tittles now days.....and also people rely on vehicles because vehicles are a part of the HALO gamplay that has been established over the years and Halo is still one of the only shooters I have played where the vehicles don't feel Clunky.

It doesn't matter how fast you run, the maps are still large, and players need an efficient method of going from here to there. Now man cannons are fun and all, but they are predicable and only launch you to one place.

And have you ever spawned in your base on Avalanche, walked outside and saw no vehicles whatsoever? I don't know about you, but I play a lot of social, and this happens a lot to me. This is where a sprint feature would come in handy.

And I think that out of all things, perks should be the last thing thought of to be put in Halo. Infinity ward might have done a good job with them, but I don't think Bungie could balance them out very well. Bungie has a habit of making one thing beat everything else (BR, Laser, Scorpion tank).

I also remember that Spartans can run extremely fast (30 or 40 mph?) and what they are pulling in Halo is not close to that at all.

I guess ill give ya that....but to take out the need for sprint you could get rid of the man cannons (i hate them) and bring back teleporters as a main mode of transportation

*I was not saying I want perks I was just saying they could be fun if they were done right

The problem with teleporters is that they lead to camping. Someone with a shotgun or a sniper could just watch the teleporter and wait for someone to come through.

Unless the teleporter covered more area, and a player would randomly appear somewhere within that area.

Oh, would you mind taking a gander at reading this? I'm going to warn you, it's a long read, but if you read the whole thing, it makes so much more sense.

I'll check it out (put it in my favs) so I'll read it later.... lol your Tele idea just reminded me of Chinron... ah i miss that map...

but for the most part i never though camping was a huge deal with tele's

When you quoted me your response was in the quote box so I didn't see it at first haha.

And even on Avalanche there is some camping during one sided objective games.
