Subject: "New Enemy" Lesser Prophets

Don't hate... ...loathe.

The three high prophets (Truth, Regret, and Mercy) aren't the only ones that exist. The covenate went to Reach looking for artifacts, they most likly had prophets in the group as they were the handelers of Foruner Technology.

that's not a bad idea at all.
but they weren't taking part in the battles. prophets are treasured by covenants, and they stay far away from combat, so unless you board a ship and go deep inside to kill the prophet, you won't see any.

I was thinking they would be seen after the partial glassing of Reach. If they thought the planet had been evacuated or cleared of any threat.

....No.
IF one prophet were to be captured, the entire war would be over. Never has a prophet entered an active warzone, the covenant revere them too much.

Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea...But they're frail and live lives of study and speculation, they're not at all cutout for any type of stressful situation.

Read Halo: The Flood. There was lesser Prophet on the flagship that lead the attak on Reach. Who knows how many more there were.

I believe a lesser prophet was present and killed during the second battle of Earth.

I read in one of the books that some of the high ranking Elites (councel member types) had silmilar power to the quite low level Phophets. Ofcourse I'm talking highest of the high and lowest of the low. I think it was in First Strike or Harvest. It was talking about prophets that didn't even have hover chariots and such.

I think it was in Harvest that refered to the war between the Phophets and the Elites being a stand still, the Prophets big advantage being the Forunner Dreadnot thing standing up to the warior ways of the Elites. So they can fight some, even if statagy is there best wepon.

I vaugely remember seeing in one of the Halo 2 cutscenes there were a large amount of prophets so the lesser prophets could already exist in the Halo universe before this game...

The minister was not part of the fight though techniccally he was assassinated I think if they have prophets in this game they will have hover chariots other wise it woudn't be a challenge and besides most of the battle for reach was on the surface if you see any prophets there will only be a few or one

The Halo 2 special edition disk had a thing about the population levels of the species in the Halo universe. There arn't a lot of prophets and a there was something mentioned about there seeding the race.

it's a good idea if you've read the books you do know that the prophets at one time did take the battlefield against the elites, though the ratio of combat effectiveness 1/10 favoring the elites. The prophets still maintain the role of shipmasters as do elites so I wouldn't mind a mix, the prophets could provide a damage buff for nearby covies by chanting the "holy script" and providing morale. What I would really like to see is some shipmasters in there decked out purlpe bamf armor.(read the halo "comic" book for that pic) all this said also in the books it talks about the prophets having serious trouble keeping there numbers up since they have a distinctly small breeding pool (a side effect from ripping out the dreadnaught from their world and leaving) so the idea of them being purposefully put in combat is low.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

The Prophet of Regret was the first Prophet ever seen by human (or rather Spartan) eyes.

The UNSC had theories that there were non-military leaders of the Covenant. But had never seen them until around the middle of Halo 2.

And for ^that guy. Prophets are never Ship Masters. They can be escorted BY a Ship Master, in which case they do assume control of the ship's heading, but as actual command on a Ship is done by a Brute, Elite, or in rare cases a Jackal.

mostly true info about them might have slipped through during the timeline of halo one since the ODST's caught one when they captured the covie ship and told cortana about it, of course all the ODST's died so maybe not. They have been shipmasters read the books.

No i dont think that there will be any prophets lesser or not they are to prideful and frail to be on the battlefield, besides if u look at the end of halo 3 the arbiter was easily able to pick up and hold the prophet with little or no exertion at all .

Just wondering, was their a Lesser Prophet on the Ship, Truth and Reconciliation? He had some kind of Hover belt, but was kidnapped, and assasinated by the UNSC. (Just wondering, I could be wrong, giving I haven't read the books, can someone please correct me if im wrong)

I, for one, like the idea. They would definately send in some as Commanders, instead of risking themselves on the front line. Good idea :)
I hope to see some sort of commander, unlike gold elites/Grav-ham brutes in reach, because it would shake up the gameplay a bit from what we're used to.

Spartan05, the prophet didn't resists, because if I remember correctly, he was being infected by the flood. Thats why arby said he will kill prophet, not an infection.

Also the prophet of truth was a much older prophet, all feble and what not.

On my replaying of Halo 2 (I'm playing through 1, 2, & 3 to prep for ODST) I boarded a Regrets hover chariot. Thus it was consitered a vehical. That could be another ride for are as of yet un named cast.

i understand that im just sayin that the prophets are very frail a nd would be easy targets for any thing. Now if they do ahve one in there that is guarded by 6 gold elite commanders and 3 pairs of hunters all the time then it would get interesting

If you knew anything about the canon of Halo, you'd know this would not happen.

Heck, it's the founding motto of the Covenant.

"Keep us safe, whilst we find the path"

That's the Elites, the Sanghelli, keeping the Prophets, the San'Shyuum, safe from harm while they found and analyzed Forerunner artifacts in hopes of completing the Sacred Journey.

What would the prophet do?

*prophet hovers around with men, a spartan jumps out*
Spartan: Boo!
Prophet: eeeeeek! *trys to hover away, saying*
Prophet: why did i come here!, i should of just used a hologram, like we always do!
Spartan: (Press X to Board)*The Spartan presses X and beatsdown the prophet*

in other words, no.

We must save your sergeant, I love him

In Halo Wars you can control the prophet in scrummage so much for not going on the battle field.
