I'm not saying make Reach like Halo 1, I'm saying we should have options through custom games that let us make the game more like Halo 1. Some of these should include:

Editable control physics so we can get the exact same "feel" of Halo 1

Ability to disable dual weilding

Ability to turn on/off fall damage

Ability to edit player's health so it can mimic Halo 1's system (health bar), or Halo 2's/3's

Weapons that can be added through forge and custom games:
The Halo 1 pistol (everything kept the same)
The Halo 1 Shotun
Halo 1 Rockets (the ones that shoot faster
Halo 1 Plasma Rifle
Halo 1 Needler
Halo 1 Sniper
ect...

Option in forge to edit a weapon's damage, range, consistency, etc...

Option to disable melee lunges

That's just to name a few. Since these would only be useable through custom games, I see no reason why these options should be excluded when we can edit gravity and markers over a player's head in Halo 3's custom games.

I agreed with everything except weapons.

unless you copy/paste them into the game, they'd need new textures, effects, AI, sounds, effect etc, which makes more work for bungie to spend on redundant weapons (they'll be more/less useful clones of weapons already ingame....)

Steven

yeah, weapons are tough to do. Other than that, more options are usually better than fewer.

Yep. We should also get options to input our own fall damage height, or physics/ gravity alterations. None of this 50% skipping to 100% in gravity. I want to input 56%.

The Pistol in Halo 1 is nothing like the BR. The range is different, the Halo 1 pistol is consistent, the Halo 1 pistol three-shot kills, etc...

The Rockets in Halo 1 shoot much faster compared to Halo 2's and Halo 3's rockets, making the game much more fast paced

The Sniper in Halo 1 took much more skill to use and was very consistent, which futher increased the speed of the game. Ever shoot someone in the head with the Halo 3 sniper, see blood come from his head, and he doesn't die?

The Shotgun in Halo 1 was consistent, and had a longer range compared to the Halo 2 and Halo 3 shotgun, which further increased the fast paced intensity of the game.

There's a reason why every weapon from Halo 1 should appear in reach, and thats weapon balance. If the Halo 1 pistol was introduced to the game, but every other weapon stayed the same, the pistol would be overpowered. The reason every weapon worked well in Halo 1 was because they were so strong, and they all played their role perfectly in the game. And since they were so strong, Halo 1 was the most fast paced and intense multiplayer experience I have ever enjoyed. Halo 2's and Halo 3's weapons and inconsistencies really make the game slow paced and boring.

I would honestly have Bungie work extra hard, even push back the release date of Reach if it meant every type of player could get an option to play the Halo they want to.

The obtion I wanted for Halo 3, since the Halo 2 era, was the obtion to turn off Aim Assist. Hopefully, it will be implemented this time.

Actually, the rocket is faste rin Halo 3...

In H1, I have outrun a rocket in a tank for good hundred meters.

Also, you probably will be cast back into the past basicly, cause Reach is just before Halo 1, so you have hte same armor (no self healing biofoam), lower shields cause of it, same weapons, with a couple of addons.
As for fall damage, I always found that stupid, I mean, the ones in Halo: First Strike were shot down on the way down, and jumped from the pelican, I think 10'000ft in the air, and only two died on impact with the ground. So how come the chief couldn't jump a hundred feet on the way down?

No way man, Halo 1 rockets shoot way faster

I wouldn't be so sure about a graunteed set of Halo 1 weapons in Reach just because of cronological order. I recently saw a leaked video of animation from Reach and a spartan used a BR. I don't care if Halo 1 weapons aren't in campaign, or matchmaking. I just want them in forge and custom game options.

As for fall damage, it wouldn't affect you if it was a custom game option.
