The main web browser that I use with my computer is Mozilla Firefox for various reasons, but bungie.net always seems to load very slow with it. Why does this site seem to have a slower framerate than Halo PC on a crappy graphics card whenever I view it in Firefox? It seems fine when I use IE, but I never encountered a different site that could make Firefox render a webpage this slowly, and it gets VERY annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

FireFox has an odd scrolling system. IE, Safari and most other major browsers work fine with Bungie.net.

Just stick with Internet Explorer when browsing this site.

Yep, that's what I do... Although some people claim to not have problems on this site with firefox.

This will fix Firefox's issues with B.net.

Just set the user agent to IE6.

Please note that by switching the user agent to IE6, you will probably cause other bugs, as there are good reasons that bungie.net buckets Firefox and IE6 differently.

I've tried that. It didn't work at all. I am using Advanced Browser instead. It's like IE and with the same principles, just without all the security loopholes ;)

You would need an unusually large amount of training.

Is Advanced Browser a secure browser?
Yes, Advanced Browser is secure. Since it's based on Internet Explorer, Advanced Browser is as secure as Internet Explorer. Advanced Browser supports all SSL secured websites. Advanced Browser's encryption length is the same as Internet Explorer's.

I wouldn't use any of those IE frontends if you're really worried about security.

Sorry, we typically do not recruit people who specifically ask to be moderators.

Oh and I still don't see these problems with Firefox and Bungie.net, I browse just fine.

that proves bit of a problem then doesn't it I mean if you don't recruit people who ask and you can't recruit people who don't ask because they won't want to be (genrealy). so you're caught in a tight space when looking for mods then aren't you?

PS I'd love to be a mod but that isn't going to happen is it? I mean of the tens of thousends of people on bungie it must be what a three hundred to one chance of that (propably less than that), so I figure why ask? it isn't going to happen anyway you put it so just give up and post loads...

If you're using Firefox and having troubles with it on this site, do NOT switch to IE, that only leads to more problems.

Instead, download Opera. It has the exact same features as Firefox, more customization, and works fine with this site.

I still kind of trust Advanced Browser over IE due to the fact that it just seems safer for some reason. I also kind of like it's feature with the extra tabs and whatnot. I would like to know, however, why the update will not work right for my copy of Firefox.

Neither do I, sometimes it messes up, but then I end up finding out that Bungie.net was undergoing maintenance. Maybe it is just some weird setting that I have on. I don't know.

Not really. The way mod selection works (or so I understand it) is that a person's body of posts are noted to demonstrate an attitude or personality suitable for a moderator; if there's a vacancy, the idea gets hashed around a bit with existing mods and staff, then that person is privately asked if they wish to become one with no public pressure to say "yes" or "no". All low key and low impact.

In other words, mods are selected based on past performance on the forums and NOT by their eagerness to gain power.
