Remade because the poll skewed the subject line.

Before you read further please keep in mind this idea is for objective games only, not slayer game types. Thank you.

Develop a one way force field that can cover an area of a map where spawns are set. One way meaning once you leave the area you can't go back in unless the objective carrier passes back through it as explained a bit further. For offensive/defensive objective games, only the offensive team will have a force field spawn area. The defensive team can spawn anywhere else on the map. For objective games like one flag, the field will drop when the offensive team passes back through it with the flag, this way the defensive team can still try to recover the flag when it's taken past the force field. It is only during this time that the offensive team can spawn elsewhere on the map. Once the flag resets the field goes back up and any defensive players on the wrong side of the force field when it goes up gets their shields drained until they go back to the correct side of the field. For two way objective games the objectives would need to be outside of the force field area.
Please describe any other solutions you may have for spawn campers.

NO I think that would be stupid. I mean how often does a spawn kill happen? Unless the map is some tiny one with a lot of people or the map is made by one of those kids who think a map is fun if they get a lot of kills. If you really want it so bad go into forge a nd make it but don't put objectives in it. Also just to point out that it would not work at all is all you had to do is get a few points then wait till the time ends. Just like HLG does but impossible to kill them.

Quite frequently if you know how to position, and win control of a map.

And no, that's just plain stupid. If a person can out-slay you to the point of being able to control your team on the spawn, then they deserve that. It's usually easy to escape from in any playlist, except for MLG or higher level TS, but it's not a problem. Go whine somewhere else.

Sounds like TF2 Spawns......

If you can't spawn camp them, then they would camp the shield or door.....

If only some thought is given to this before blabbing off premature comments... which obviously is the case of these two commentors... it isn't "stupid"! I'm NOT talking about freakin' slayer... it's STUPID to even apply this idea to slayer as there are random spawn points through out the entire map with a slayer game. I'm talking about objective games, when a whole team appears on one end of the map and the other team appears on the other end of the map. Once again, I'm not talking about being owned on a slayer game, don't insult my intelligence.

LETS ALL TALK IN CAPS!!!!!

You should change the title, but anyways just make it so you eather spawn by an ally, or away from an enemy.

They do that now... but the problem is... here take First Resort for example. Remember this is objective games we're talking about, NOT SLAYER for goodness sake. Anyway, if your on offense where do you spawn... the beach. Everyone knows this. So what do spawn campers do? Get a sniper head to the high point above the corridor and start picking off people spawning on the beach. It makes a lot of sense if everyone would just think objective games.

Spawn Killing isn't a problem, and it's not really there fault, if there's an enemy they must destroy.

Listen to that comment. What has this community come to? I use to be a long time member, sold my xbox a year ago and just recently got a new one... and this is what I come back to? These are exactly the type of people that don't belong in social communities. Exploiting flaws in a game to gain the advantage is dishonorable and distasteful. Additionally, when does expressing an opinion on a public forum meant for exactly that, become whining? I was clear, concise and made a valid suggestion.

I hear ya... if an enemy randomly spawns in front of you in a slayer game, kill them... that's fine. Honestly, I don't have a problem with that. But, that will never happen in an objective game. You have to physically and purposely go to there spawning area hang-out and start shooting as they pop-up, ping, ping, ping. Yeah, it's a freaking shooting gallery! Fun, fun! The objective game becomes trash at that point.

Yeah, but the difference is you can scope things out and proceed cautiously with mulitple access points and perhaps turn the tables. But, with spawn camping it's just, appear and BANG! "Dude what the hell just happened!?"

well, something like the Section8 system.
ODST Drop Pods. but there is certain areas where you cant drop.
or you could just regular spawn, or spawn in waves.
in a mission where, uh, lets say "Defend the Elephant Transport" hm, a Elephant cant be destroyed you say? well, the Attackers have OVER NINE THOUSAND pounds of C4.

The defenders can Drop Pod near the elephant or they can spawn in it. the Defenders also have a defense of stationary gauss guns or chain guns.
while the attackers have the advantage of ambushing and fast attack vehicles. the attackers could also be pushed back by a wave of Drop Pods, for example. The attackers are bringing in 2 warthogs to attack from behind, but the Defenders destroyed them by landing their Drop pods on them.
OR
the attackers can defeat the defenders more strategically, like, having a couple Hornets filled with troops land inside the elephant, where the turrets and the drop pods cant get them, while the defenders are busy killing the defenders, Fast attack vehicles can attack from behind or blockade the front. slowing the elephant even more so the Bomb carrier can destroy it.
heh, me and my crazy ideas :D

So basically choose your spawning point with the ability to see where the hot parts of the map are... drop pod on a spawn camper, not a bad idea.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

I don't so much agree with this idea, but the spawn camping thing does need to be addressed. Both in objective and slayer, spawn camping is prevailent at the higher levels of play. Some call it skill, but all it is IMO is an exploit of the spawn system that needs to be fixed. Spawn camping/trapping is a real issue, and unless you have a full team of people you can coordinate with to prevent the setups, you run the risk of getting stuck.

Why a forcefield if you can just make people invincable for a few seconds?
