I was wondering about ODST and Halo 3 in general, and I remembered reviews finding a lack of "Wow Factor." It's basically slang for something new and exciting. In Halo 3 we had the Ark, but the mystery and surprise that could have been was ruined early on with the E3 Tech Demonstration trailer. In Halo 3 the only "Wow Factor" would have to be the technical side of things in terms of level design. We don't have the "Wow Factor" of finding the Flood again. Call of Duty (completely scripted) has a ton of "Wow Factor" like Helicopters attacking, AC-130 air support, destroying enemy artillery with a helicopter turret, using artillery, and interesting settings like an airplane hostage situat with decompression occuring in part of the plane.
How can Bungie add "Wow Factor" to a prequel with many old villains, and how can they avoid scripted sequences as a crutch like Call of Duty?
