They should take it out. But not just like in ODST. The weapons in ODST look pretty similar to Halo 3's weapon set. As this is a new game and not an expansion, I would like re-designed weapons that operate on terms more similar to Halo 1 than Halo 2/3, in that they can be used at more ranges and in more situations.

For example, take the AR. It's broken in Halo 1 and 3 (and most likely ODST, I haven't seen any noticable changes to it).

Make it as inaccurate as the Halo 1 AR when fired in full auto.

If you pulse the trigger then its range could be doublled, tripled, or even quadroopled, depending on how lengthy your button taps are.

If you tap very slowly and lightly you an fire in single shot, and that could be about as accurate as the Halo 1 Pistol, though it would be many times weaker (just used for surpression at range, or to de-scope snipers, if you have good aim).

It could take, say, 25 shots to kill someone. But let's say you land the shots on the head instead of the body. You kill them in half the time in about 12 shots.

Also give it a 2x scope like the SMG in ODST got.

What's the point of all this? To keep the AR noob-friendly (full auto) but also giving it enough depth so that good players will consistently kill bad players in an AR vs. AR match (as well as making it versatile so it would not be worthless past close range as it is now), because as it stands in Halo 3 it's a total toss-up on who wins in an AR-AR button mashing competition.

No.

Yeah. In order to get rid of Dual wielding, the weapons have to look IMPOSSABBLE to dual weild.

I dont think this is a weapon bashing thread, we didnt even mention downgrading, this is about dual wielding, not the weapons themselves

If dual wielding is added weapons need to be downgraded so they are not overpowed. This does not just apply to dual wieldables, either. I was juist pointing out that if DW was removed, so would the worthless weapon syndrome present in Halo 2 and 3.

I second that, a more true-to-life Assault Rifle is what we need.
Keeping it open to newer players, and "upping" the skill needed to use it right with a scope, headshot bonus, and a longer distance(if burst-fired).
