Yeah, I've seen it before, usually it movies. Any major fan of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back knows that a little before the movie came out, a website named www.moviepoopshoot.com (featured in the movie) was published as a movie review site. If a person dug deep enough into the site, they could find trailers for the movie not found elsewhere. It's a pretty cool advertising feature, especially since it was flashed in the trailer. I like it...I think it's a good way to build up the plot. It brings it to the real world...making it seem like this is really going to happen.
He's got a point, look at the sourcecode. It's some pretty funny stuff. On the homepage, the META tag keywords include "honey, bees, margaret, WTF is going on with this damn thing, hoax, game, bee hoax, thanks and tip your waitress, sleep, is, good, install, reinstall, re-reinstall, re-re-reinstall", etc...... Pretty funny stuff.
I think a bit of the source from the Honey page is from Gullivers Travels? The part about being tied down?
Anyway, I think that this site and the blog will be a pretty good way to see the plot. It's not a spoiler, knowing Bungie, it is a way to find out more of the plot. You know how they are and completely overthinking the plot. But hey, I like it.
