Subject: Covanant "Elite" campaign- Play as Elites!!!!

Well i brought it up in a halo 3 odst thread and i thought it could actually be a sweet as idea that could have a hella lot of potential to be a break-through New Idea in the halo universe...

How about not playing as the MC himself but as the arbiter and playing as the covanant and slaughtering humans and taking key victories on Reach, you could have invisibility and and a energy sword and fight along side your fellow elites. just think of the possibilities walking invisible up to a human scout team find a lone guy come not invisible and and tower over him with your sword and see the fear in his eyes just so much you could do with this.

Like you could hit a brute when he is walking with you or somethign and he'll get pissed and turn on you and try to kill you?

just cool things that could come with a covanant storyline,

Or a mission to ambush a human sqaud of marines/convoy, with your sqaud of invisible elites OMG this would be awesome!!!

Anyone?

What we would like to see in this second campaign to the UNSC campaign.
1. Play as an Elite, weild energy sword go invisible
2. Watch ship battles from covvy point of view
3.learn what the covvy want to do with that forerunner artifact theyre after. Books..
4. Play along side hunters grunts jackals.
5. See new covenant tecnology like there mining equipment
6. learn more about the covenant in general prophets, ranks/claste

no one else would just go freaking crazy if i could be a elite and own humans?

Waffles taste so. . .waffely. . .

This is an idea many have talked about, and hopefully will have a good chance of being implemented in Halo: Reach

I'd leave the plot line up to Bungie though, they know what they're doing.

On an off-topic note, don't bump your thread. It's against the rules.

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

On Reach?
There was no Arbiter at that time.
While slaughtering Marines can be fun, this campaign would have a lot of stuff to work out.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

It could just be a high classes elite? like MC is technically just a super soldier, so that would be better just a one of the covants best trained elites.

It would make sense, as the covenant DID win Reach. The vast majority of the planet was glassed, so the Covenant should be given a fair share of Campaign.

Hey, no brutes on reach. In case you didn't notice, they weren't even in Halo 1. Unless for some reason this takes place at some time other than the book. Also, you played as the Arbiter in Halo 2, just in case you were thinking its new

If somebody's opinion is being smashed and nobody's helping, I try and help. I use logic and extensive vocabulary (and sometimes self-destructive circular reasoning) to confuse my enemies into submission. Fear me, trolling, fapping creatures of the night. For I. Am your worst nightmare.

You could be playing as the Arbiter BEFORE he bacame the Arbiter. Like just when he was a Fleet Master.

  • 09.18.2009 5:53 PM PDT

This looks like It's going to be centered around the Human race.
Probably no Covenant Campaign albeit it would be badass.

  • 09.18.2009 5:54 PM PDT

Goodbye Halo2, you will be missed, you will not be forgotten.

The Latest, Greatest Stalker Armor!

good idea, it really is..buuuuuuut...halo 2 kinda got that whole elite thing down.
now if you could play as the flood...

How would that work? Most of the Flood types are relatively weak. And if you were to play as the Gravemind it would have to be made into an RTS basically.

About the Arbiter thing...

He WAS a fleet master at Reach. He left to follow the Pillar of Autumn to Halo. Technically, we could use him, but it'd be an RTS. As a fleet master, he would do no ground fighting.

Not sure what you said there, but.

Yes, I believe we could follow a Spec Ops or Zealot elite that's looking for an artifact, or something. Maybe an Ultra controlling a squad, kind of like Halo with a mass effect type squad. But better.

In theory, this would be very, very pimp. Like predator kinda. Exept one thing that kind of ruins it. One reason halo seems so sweet when your slaughtering aliens is that these are huge ass space invaders that are bigger than you, packing more heat then you, and outnumbering you greatly. Cutting through covenant forces just feels like your in an action movie. I feel like if it was the other way around and you were the big badass alien stabbin' the hell out of humans, it just wouldnt have the same feeling of overwhelming chaos. It would be fun, but not in near the same way. You know?

You mean like the way you went the arbiter during Halo 2?

I wouldn't like to see a Covenant campaign on it's own but if it was done like Halo 2 then I'd enjoy it.

now thats not neccessarily true. read the halo: fall of reach book if you havent, and check out the figure in the mist that the marines describe 7 ft tall wearing mideavil armor and weilding an energy sword. if you ask me that describes the arbiter pretty thuroughly. keep in mind the arbiter starting in halo 2 wasnt the only arbiter in the covenant. its not one person, its a tradition.

Or you could begin as a blue elite at the start of the game then by the end of the game you have progressed to a ship master then follow the pillar of Autumn to halo
