Subject: Covanant "Elite" campaign- Play as Elites!!!!

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

this would kinda make the game boring the spartens more intresting then the elites and they would have to make a sparten and elite campaign.

What would ever make anyone think they are more interesting than Elites, Elites live in a Meritocratic society with many similarities to FEUDAL JAPAN, SPARTA, and MEDIEVAL ENGLAND. They are awesome. The Spartans are just your modern day brainwashed infantry soldiers, with upgraded bodies and armor.

this is what im talking about, there is alot of story behind elites that could make it a great campaign.

Only as a unlockable campaign. I hated switching between Elite and Human missions in Halo 2. Not that it was had, but I wanted to actually see the Chief evolve and do something. Arbiter just stole the show.

It would be quite interesting indeed. And I do not have any doubts that Bungie will go and create a Covenant campaign for Reach.

However...

Original: The Prince of Persia

Experience has taught me that wishful thinking only leads to disappointment.

I would certainly be interesting by a Sangheili or Covenant campaign. But, most of the fanbase did not like the Arbiter missions (I myself liked them), so Bungie would not have much reason to include another Covenant campaign.

Buuuuuuut...I didn't like how they reduced The Arbiter to MC's meatshield with absolutely no relevance to the plot. So I can go either way with this.

I agree that would be extremely badass. I really liked playing as the arbiter in halo 2 and i think it should be re-implemented. Mostly because i wanna learn more about the covenant, about their leader, their past, and their hierarchy. plus i think it'd be fun to blast the hell outta some humans. Also it would be really cool to get to pilot or at least fight on the phantoms. But i also think that if it's done that way it would be cool to be able to pick a side, slight rpg style. Have a generic opening and then you choose which side you wanna be on. If you choose covenant then it takes to the elite you play and has a cutscene and tutorial to explain a bit, and the same way if you choose the UNCS side.

I think its a good idea, although in my opinion - I think they're gonna do another spin-off game where you play as the Elites. Maybe still having a war against the brutes/rest of the covenant? Would be cool if they did this, fight on the elite world which is under attack. Find out more about them, their past etc.
Theres lots of different possibilties - good chance they could involve an elite story in Reach. But I wouldn't be suprised if they make a seperate game like ODST - Halo3: Arbiter or something along those lines.

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

I always wondered what it would be like to fight a spartan as an elite, that would be epic.

~Z~

I don't think that would really be the greatest idea. For those of you who think that this would be a good idea based purely on the thought that the covenant won Reach, then read the book.

Reach was much more than just a battle, it was a discovery. When the spartans were at the Reach Battle, they met with Dr. Hasley and explored that many secret there. They found one particular object at reach that the covenant were looking for as well. This led to an epic quest that involved more fun to read than alot of other books.

So, while the idea of a game with an elite campaign would be fun, I wouldn't make that game Reach, but it'd be a great idea for a different halo game.

God no

It ruined Halo2 even though i did especially like going into battle with hunters

I like the Arbiter a whole lot but Bungie had sense to realise they messed up with the introduction of Elite campaign

Of course there will be people that want this but the majority of these people wont have lived Halo1 for those couple of years first

Bring out a seperate game for this i guess but don't ruin Reach with such a stupid inclusion

Bungie made the mistake of listening too closely to it's fans and it turned out that's not actually what the fans really wanted after all - they wont make that same mistake twice

On Reach?
There was no Arbiter at that time.
While slaughtering Marines can be fun, this campaign would have a lot of stuff to work out.

There wasn't an Arbiter, but there was the character- he was the leader for the assault on Reach. There is a huge chance he will be featured in the game.

Playing as an elite in the assault of Reach? Walking through the various facilities and towns and killing all the humans in your way, just because you're destroying a planet?

The idea looks good for the people that want to get a good perspective of the events in reach from the Covenant side and what was happening in their lines during the battle.

As in Halo 2, we've already experienced to play as a Covenant and it was very pleasurable, however how we can say playing in Halo Reach as a Covenant will be good as in Halo 2?

Halo Reach, is a prequel, where the planet your grown and trained to be a super soldier has been attacked from an powerful enemy, the covenant.

In order to Survive you must rush between missions in order to save as most marines you can (sounds obvious), while you have to go through lines of Covenant's.

Playing as an elite will be exciting, however we do have to keep in mind these things

+ Story sense. (It makes no sense to be an elite that kills humans, when its clear we're a team of Spartans that fight against the covenants)
+ Game play. Yes, many people will say "why, its badass" however, its not that exciting to kill humans while you're invisible.
+Spartans, of course you will meet Spartans in battle, I doubt that an Elite, all by himself could win over a Spartan, as we've noticed, Master Chief requires at least 10 Covenants to die in game.
+Maps, maps and more maps. Since the max size of a DVD now days is about 16/20 Gb, we do have to keep in mind all the maps, modes and scripts that will be required to run the game.

Good aspects about having elites in the game
+A new prespective, the story will be more complete and further developed. The player will enjoy going through it and switching sides.
+Badass, yes its badass making a massacre through the humans, also a good thing if you like splatter movies.

Thats my opinion.

Hey, no brutes on reach. In case you didn't notice, they weren't even in Halo 1. Unless for some reason this takes place at some time other than the book. Also, you played as the Arbiter in Halo 2, just in case you were thinking its new

the reason it wasnt in the book was because bungie had not thought of them. it doesnt matter if bungie doesnt go by the book. Its there game they invented halo they can change the story to whatever they like.

While I don't like the idea of a covenant only campaign, I do love the idea of a two sided campaign, like Halo 2's campaign. It was awesome.
