Are you people dumb? Remember Halo 2? Remember a little character called The Arbiter? The Raiden (MGS) equivilent of the Halo universe? Yea he barely played differently than the chief, had lame missions, and pretty much was responsible for ruining the Halo 2 campaign.

I don't know if half of you 12 year old jerkoffs have read Fall of Reach, but for such an amazing piece of the Halo Universe that's so focused on the humans and spartans, why would I want that potential wasted on the worst part of the Halo 2 campaign expanded on for an entire game? F**K THAT!

If bungie wants to expand the universe or give even more unnecessary backstory on the covenant, write a new novel, explain via cut scenes, or make some elite side story game similar to what they did with odst (as in using previously created assets, developing it in a year, etc.)

1. Arbiter missions were not fun because A: You didn't get to kill marines B: You were just given lame missions anyway.
2. The rest of halo 2 sucked just as much.

So full of hate were our eyes that none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead but never victory.
So let us cast our arms aside and like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe, whilst we find the path

I think the problem would be that you'd only face one enemy, humans with assault rifles, and maybe sometime you'd meet a slightly stronger marine with a battlerifle.
Not enough different kinds of enemies on the UNSC side

Edit: I believe you only had a change to actually shoot marines in Halo 2, and you'd need a sniper for that and they wouldn't shoot back.

In the level, sacred icon, you have a chance to save a group of marines under attack by flood.
After saving them from across the pit, with the sputnik skull, you could grenade jump over to the marines, bypassing the trigger that causes any living marines to die.

Any surviving marines you save are hostile, and will attempt to kill you when you jump over to them. You can either ignore them, kill them, or walk over to the trigger, and watch the marines literally drop dead.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

I think hey already made a game like this tha nobody liked... oh yeah: HALO 2.

i reckon that they should follow the events leading up to the arbiter becoming the arbiter. it should tell the story of what wrong he did, the side story to halo 1

an idea for enemies could be the flood (der) but also the could be odst's, souped up snipers and then levels of infantry, the brutes could be enemies before the covenant could control them

"Belive me, or what'cha see is what'cha get."

Maybe. Maybe.
But i'd get confused on who to kill if i play humans too much ( just like ninety nine nights, play as humans for 4 people, then play as goblin get confused on WHO to kill.

While slaughtering Marines can be fun, this campaign would have a lot of stuff to work out.

Umm, there has been arbiters for generations... Do you remember near the end of Halo 2, you were fighting in the arbiter grave yard.

They pick arbiters to do special objectives, they are like the covvy spartans.

What wrong he did...? He let the Chief destroy Alpha Halo.

Anyways, I don't particularly like this idea. And as someone else previously stated, we don't know if this about the FALL of Reach (although Bungie certainly hinted at it "Reach FALLS 2010.") So we're not entirely sure what the struggle is. Could be insurrection or the rebels, or something else entirely. However, we DO know that it takes place before/during the fall of Reach, as afterwards is when Halo: CE begins and Bungie has openly stated that this is a prequel.

I would like to have different sides to the story, but not from an Elite's point of view.

They also hint in Halo: O.D.S.T. that something bad happened to reach.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Not as a main plot line, but if the story was split so you could pick a side fantastic. Reach is a game where the UNSC side will HAVE to be implemented. But in a future game I would love to see an all Covie point of view. Oh and at the time the Arbiter was not the Arbiter yet.

Also, just so you know, Halo 2 had a whole side story as the Arbiter, alot of insight like this was given, but more is definitely needed.

If anything they will do Spartans and Elites, though, I don't see them implementing more than one gameplay style into the game. So we won't likely see a Spartan/ODST mix campaign.

Well i brought it up in a halo 3 odst thread and i thought it could actually be a sweet as idea that could have a hella lot of potential to be a break-through New Idea in the halo universe...

How about not playing as the MC himself but as the arbiter and playing as the covanant and slaughtering humans and taking key victories on Reach, you could have invisibility and and a energy sword and fight along side your fellow elites. just think of the possibilities walking invisible up to a human scout team find a lone guy come not invisible and and tower over him with your sword and see the fear in his eyes just so much you could do with this.

Like you could hit a brute when he is walking with you or somethign and he'll get pissed and turn on you and try to kill you?

just cool things that could come with a covanant storyline,

Or a mission to ambush a human sqaud of marines/convoy, with your sqaud of invisible elites OMG this would be awesome!!!

Anyone?

What we would like to see in this second campaign to the UNSC campaign.
1. Play as an Elite, weild energy sword go invisible
2. Watch ship battles from covvy point of view
3.learn what the covvy want to do with that forerunner artifact theyre after. Books..
4. Play along side hunters grunts jackals.
5. See new covenant tecnology like there mining equipment
6. learn more about the covenant in general prophets, ranks/claste
this would kinda make the game boring the spartens more intresting then the elites and they would have to make a sparten and elite campaign.

Nihilism (from the Latin nihil, nothing) is a philosophical position that argues that existence is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.

Put simply in the words of Nietzsche as "the will to nothingness".

I was hoping in Halo 2 while playing as the arbiter that I would get to kill some marines or odsts, boy I was wrong.

It's going to have to be centered around the human race. If anyone had read the books, you would know that Reach, the homeworld and training facility to the spartans, was glassed. (destroyed by the covenant) The whole point of Halo Reach is to emphasis the survival and destruction of the humans. Also, this is when the covenant locate planet Earth, the homeworld of the humans. I don't believe it would be good to play as the covenant anyway, because the whole storyline you have been Master Chief, AKA a human (kinda).
