Mark V will probably be the main armor, but there are a few leeways here. Reach did have earlier armor systems (I, II, and III) in the mines. Now, the reason those three did not work out well is because of their generators (radio signals/cords= bad combat scenarios). However, it is possible that there could have been a modified set lying around somewhere. My theory is that we may see this bulkier armor, mainly because of the big guy on the left. He is clearly holding onto some kind of large machine gun. Mark III armor had a built in machine gun, similar to that. Therefore, it is possible that is a prototype Mark IV, or a modified Mark III. But still, I think it will be really cool to see Mark V as the main armor again. I always liked that one the best.

Why is Captain Kirk climbing the mountain?

I can't wait for the older armour to be back, back when the spartan looked absolutly huge in their armour. it's gonna be kickass.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I highly doubt we'll be seeing Mark I-III of power armor suits. They were decommissioned for a reason. We could see a cyclopes, but I doubt it. We probably won't see mark IV armor either because by the battle of Reach, all Spartans had upgraded to Mark V (with the exception of grey team).

i think you will probably end up using the mark 5 armor but also the game play is probably going to be a bit moor open ended like ODST so you can explore the game a bit moor fully as apposed to having set levels, i could also see having players control a Marian that fights alongside the Spartans to solve the issue of armor

It looks cool.

But it doesn't look RIGHT. Why the hell does the armor version BEFORE Mark V look more advanced than Mark V?

I always liked the bulky mark V armor. It looked like it could actually work.

1. The render is by a different game studio.
2. The only full suit of Mark V armor was seen in Halo 1, which came out 8 years ago. Graphics have advanced a bit.
3. Since the Mark IV suit didn't have shields, it didn't need as large of a fusion power pack as the Mark V.

I mean the legs and the chestplate mostly. Why the hell do they look like mark VI pieces?

Also, te Spartans had sheilds in the game, just not in cannon.

The render technacally isn't even by a game studio. It's by an animation company called Blur. But they didn't design it.

I hav know idea what the guys at ensemble were smoking.

Please, the character renders look great, much better than the original look for the Mark IV. And, again, the only renders seen of the Mark V were from 8 years ago. Taking from what we've seen of the Halo armors, the Mark V, if re-rendered, would resemble a bulky Mark VI suit (taking from Halo 3).

I liked the smooth, dangerous look about Mark V.
Anyone else?

I'm not talking about RENDERS, nor GRAPHICS.

I'm talking about DESIGN god damn it. The IDEA they had going into buildig the suit before it was ever 3d. The Mark IV doesn't make any god damn sense at all. NONE. Why would the armor look like MkIV, then go to V and then back to IV?

Jeez. You completely misunderstood the concept of what I was saying.

Toa Freak, in response to your response about my earlier post, there is a strong chance we may see Marks I, II, and III in Reach. Here is a list of reasons:
1. Some of these armors were left on Reach for mining purposes.
2. It was a bit of time in between that and Mark IV being developed.
3. Maybe the UNSC decided to start a prototype that utilized Mk. IVs nuclear powersource and an armor that a Marine could pilot (as in, more efficient than Cyclops).
4. The armor is slightly bigger than the newer versions, but not giant. Therefore, the guy on the far left could possibly be a person in MK I, II, or III armor (chaingun attached to arm, bulky frame, humanoid shape).
So that is why I think these could be in Reach. I think it would be a good idea if it is squad based, because then you could have a realistic Heavy class, that was not just a massive Spartan, but a regular human in powered armor.

Mattman jr

accually they were given the mark V armor on reach and since the destruction of Reach took a few hours the game will probably be set a little bit before reach, so we'll have mark IV armor (no shields) at the beginning, giving us a more odst like feel for the first half of the game and spartan feel for the second half...

I Loved the armor from Halo CE. The only armor that can compare in my opinion is ODST armor but thats personal taste. I mutually respect and like the ODST's and SPARTAN's btw.
