I have mixed views on it tbh.
I love the halo games, and Mastercheif is Iconic, so i would always love to see more games featuring him
BUT
if there are too many released, he is going to become like Mario, loved yes, but somewhere in every gamers heart, they are annoyed when another Mario game is released...
If anything, i would like 1 last game with Master Chief, where he has an epic death which saves the world or something like that.
I dunno, just something that lets the fans feel that they can have peace of mind as to the halo story...
I agree with count peter... If Bungie decides to make another 3 or 4 halo games after Reach, people are going to get bored of halo and bungie's precious time put into creating the games will be wasted.... Time that could have been used creating a legit game...Master chief will be loved, like mario, but fans will cringe every time they hear an announcement that a new halo game is being made
Anyway, i also agree with his final statement, after Reach there needs to be one final game that shows an epic death of master chief.
I picture something like this (please excuse the very long but thought out explanation)
Okay, the game is respectively titled: Halo 4: The Beginning of The End
Starts out with a cutscene showing the elite planet. The arbiter recieves a summons to the Council Chambers. There he listens to a message from Earth asking for help in finding the Master Chief. The elites fly to Earth and meet up with Lord Hood. He reports that Cortana's beacon (See Halo 3 legendary endind)has been discovered on radar. However, the system that it is located in is believed to be too dangerous for the humans to take alone.
The first mission, the gamer plays as the Arbiter. They fly to the system and discover that the half of the Dawn that S-117 (Master Chief(Spartan-117)) was located in has crash landed on the planet that the Flood come from. The first mission is you trying to find te Master Chief before he gets infected by flood. You find him as the flood close in around you. All of a sudden, a flood leader steps out of the crowd and addresses the flood. They begin to back off. He walks up to you, and you discover that he's the infected form of the prophet of truth. He thanks you for destroying the "Ring of Destruction" but then orders the flood to destroy you. You take off in a Warthog dropped by a Pelican and you must defend yourself as you drive to extraction point. You are extracted by pelican if you can survive al the way there.
The other missions: You discover a new Covenant and a new Halo Ring, they side with the flood (Dont ask how it works), You have to find a way to destroy both. Missions go from discovering how to destroy them to defending Earth and the elite planet to going on the offensive and hitting them where it hurts. (Not exactly in that order) Also, looking for your fellow spartans, who you discover are actually dead but arent listed as dead in public records (the dead who are listed as not actually dead is important to the ending!)
Final mission(based off the end of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx): You've found a way to destroy them and now your trying to implement it, Halo ring gets destroyed halfway through the game and so you had to find a different way (Bungie, you'll have to create the way) Anyway, you go through the level and at the end, the Arbiter is going throught the teleporter as you get shot. You tell him: "Just go!" AS he walks through, the teleporter begins to close. You try to defend it but you get shot down and injured. AS the Covenant and flood close around you, the flood leader walks up to you and screams: "We shall kill you, and then proceed to kil the rest of your pathetic race and all allies you have! Long Live the FLOOD!"
Your reply "You'll never kill me! Haven't you heard? SPARTANS NEVER DIE!" and then you trigger whatever it is to destory them.
the fianl cutscene shows the planet your on and other planets exploding and then shows a funeral for the Chief Just like the end of Halo 3.
Legendary ending: A ghostly Spartan 117 walks across a misty field. As he approaches the end of the field, he meets up with other ghostly spartans. They look at each other and then the Master Chief walks up to them. They salute and the Cheif says "stand down" The others crowd around him, all the other spartans and one (Fred from the Halo books) shakes his hand, hugs him and says "Welcome Home Spartan... Wlecome home" and then the camera pans away and fades to black...
Thats just what id like to see... Please feel free to quote, comment on, or add to my perception of the final Halo game!
